This document discusses Telecom Italia's decision to depeer from Italian internet exchanges in June 2013. It led to negative impacts like slower new affiliations to exchanges, traffic decreases, and increased eavesdropping risks. In response, Italian internet exchanges aim to strengthen collaboration, attract new content providers, and raise awareness of the issue to prevent other large networks from adopting similar depeering approaches. The exchanges seek to take further actions to address the challenges created by Telecom Italia's move.
