Editor's Notes

  • #2 Look at how broadly digital disruption is impacting our lives. Companies are digital companies today. RE: Billabong: Using analytics to run the company. Point is that this isn’t a far-off idea with a short list of success stories.
  • #4 Rapid Adoption rate of digital infrastructure: 5 times faster that any other previous infrastructures such as electricity, telephone etc.
  • #12 This diagram shows how the City Safety Solution works. The solution components include: video camera, license plate reader and face recognition camera city network data center and data analytics and visualization software (USH). The different sensors detect live city conditions and send data over the network to the data center. Analytics detect potential incidents and validation methods are applied to reduce false alarms. The situational awareness picture is updated and shared. Validated incidents are reported to the operator and security pattern reports are generated. Solution Components LED lighting Fixture Multi-Sensor Node Video camera, license plate reader, face recognition camera Wi-Fi Network CIM Cloud Data Flow Different sensors monitor live city conditions and perform FOG Analytics Collected data is sent over the secure Wi-Fi network to the CIM Cloud CIM Cloud aggregates and normalized collected data Applications leverage data to optimize city operations and provide citizen services
