On January 15, 2009, US Airways Flight 1549, an Airbus A320 with 150 passengers and 5 crew, struck a flock of Canada geese shortly after takeoff from LaGuardia Airport, resulting in dual engine failure. Captain Chesley Sullenberger and his crew executed a successful ditching in the Hudson River, leading to the safe evacuation of all onboard.
