The minutes from the March 21, 2011 MHPS meeting were summarized as follows: 1) Various members attended the meeting including the treasurer's report showing a balance of $5,452.67. 2) Upcoming speakers for April and May were announced covering local family histories. 3) A new membership card was approved for printing and it was suggested that local businesses offer discounts to card holders. 4) Plans were discussed for fundraising including a potential coupon program with King's and reprinting a local history book from 1959.

1. MINUTES FROM MARCH 21, 2011 MHPS MEETING
ATTENDANCE:
Connie Jelovich, Ross Miller (guest), Lou and Carol Intierie, Jackie Stempfer, Ed banks,
Fred Horning, Ray Meehan, Mary Margaret Galdes, Joan Kearns, Carl Patty.
Meeting called to order at 7:30 PM.
Minutes were passed out for review and corrections or additions and approved as printed.
TREASURE REPORT:
2/17/2011 – check to Mail and Copy Plus for $1,175.00 for 100 copies for Chuck
Halls book.
3/27/2011 - $470.00 check received from Chuck Hall for books
Balance: $5,452.67
Carl announced up-coming speakers:
April 18– Ron Summerhill – history of Summerhill family
April 16 – field trip to Bushy Run
May 16 – Sharon Kemmerer – history of Kemmerer family
MEMBERSHIP REPORT:
Carol turned in money for 7 new members. She also presented a protocol of the new
membership card which was approved for printing.
Carl mentioned Hannastown and Bushy Run gives a discount on admission when
membership card is presented. Suggestion was made to see if some of our local
businesses/stores would be willing to do the same. Needs investigated further.
Ross Miller mentioned a group is working on 4C’s and Murrysville history of how
Murrysville went from Township to Borough and now Municipality.
Carl presented details on King’s coupon program for fundraising. We need to pick a date
and time – then Kings would print coupons for us to give out and used on the date we
chose. We would receive 10% of total bill for each coupon used. Further details on
program, date and possible printing of coupon in Penn Franklin to be discussed at next
meeting.
Carl presented a book published by Murrysville Woman’s Club titled “This is
Murrysville” published in 1959. He received 3 requests for copies of the book. He was
able to find it and discussion to reprint and sell the book followed. The price would be
$254.50 for 50 copies = $5.09 per book. Discussion followed as to whether we should
reprint book as is and sell for $10.00. Mary Margaret made motion and Ed Bands second
to print book. Further movement was tabled till Jackie can approach a possible donor for
cost and report at next meeting.

2. Carl received a package mailed to the library from Don Elko. Flanders, NJ, which
contained original papers and pictures/articles of the Murrysville Woman’s Club from
1965-1966. Jackie will send a thank you card.
October 22 was picked as the date for a potential Harvest/Farmers Market Festival.
Details will be obtained as to use of Firemen’s field and further discussion regarding
program/activities to be discussed at next meeting.
Ed Banks presented a program the Motor Home Association he belongs to provides. It is
called “One Nation Under God” and sounds fantastic. He will get further details as to the
groups availability for a program for next year.
Mary Margaret will discuss with her daughter details and costs for our own web site and
she will be put on the agenda for next month.
