This document argues that a husband's primary ministry is to his family, not outside the home. It cites several Bible passages instructing husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church, and that caring for one's family pleases God more than activities outside the home. The document warns that neglecting one's family responsibilities to focus on other ministries is disobedient and can spiritually harm children. A husband should minister to his family's needs first before engaging in other religious activities outside the home.

There are things which God wants to abound in our lives as Christians. Faith, Love, liberality, good works, consolation, hope, thanksgiving, pleasing God.
Surpassing Love Ephesians 3:14-21 This lesson is a version of one by the same name used around Valentines Day adapted from a Jim Black sermon http://www.sermoncentral.com/sermons/surpassing-love-jim-black-sermon-on-gods-love-55127.asp
Checks to Unconditional Covenants 1
The Scriptures clearly tell us that the time will come when when some Christians in the body of Christ will not endure sound doctrine. All of us ought to separate the precious from the vile, the truth from the error and sound doctrine from fables. We cannot delegate this responsibility to anybody else. To this end we have been freely given the written word of God that by the grace of God through faith in his name we might be lead into all truth through the Holy Spirit.
I hope this series of meditations will help the word of God renew your mind and that you will be ready for the appearing of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I beseech you – beg, urge, encourage, appeal
By the mercies of God – compassion
Present your bodies a living sacrifice – as opposed to a sacrifice of death
Holy, Acceptable to God – pure, without spot or blemish
Your reasonable service – since Christ died for us we should live our lives for him. 2 Corinthians 5:15 and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.
We are part of the Family of God. Just like any family, we are to love one another; we have family traditions; and one day, we will have the greatest family reunion ever known!
The Christ Centered Life (Part 7): The ChurchDavid Turner
The Church is an essential part of living the Christ Centered Life. It is the body of Christ living together for Christ helping one another to live each one's life for Christ. We can't do it alone. If Christ loved his church and gave his life for it, shouldn't we as followers love what Christ loved?
Titus 2:1-10 We as Christians should make our Christianity and doctrine as attractive as we can for others without changing or corrupting the gospel. We adorn the doctrine by our conduct. We adorn the doctrine by shining as lights. We adorn the doctrine by consistent obedience. We adorn the doctrine by having a good reputation. We adorn the doctrine by having pure speech. We adorn the doctrine by showing genuine love. We adorn the doctrine by consistent assembling. We adorn the doctrine by showing concern for others. We adorn the doctrine by being united. We adorn the doctrine by being a good example.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

Evangelization in the footsteps of Saint Vincent de Paul
Ministry First?
1. Ministry First?
Where is your proof?
Husbands, God says your FAMILY IS your MINISTRY starting with your wife:
Ephesians 5:25-29
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord
the church:
So, why are you spending the majority of your FREE time ministering to OTHERS?
You say you LOVE God and want to SERVE Him? Obey His Word!
John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me
You want to WORSHIP God? Worship Him in spirit and truth:
John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Spirit means new birth, walking in the Spirit; truth means walking in the TRUTH of God’s Word:
John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Galatians 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
John 17:17 …thy word is truth.
You want a ministry? Minister to your family!
If you do not want to have that burden and spend all of your time on God, then as Paul says, do
not get married!
1Corinthians 7:32-33
32 He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the
Lord:
33 But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his
wife.
2. 34 There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the
things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married
careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.
In the end, it will not be HOW much you served, but how FAITHFUL you were to the Lord’s
commands.
Matthew 25:23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been
faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy
lord.
1Corinthians 3:13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it,
because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
We ought not to be saying where can I serve? We serve and glorify God in our care for our
families.
Is not the church a FAMILY composed of families?
Galatians 6:10 …the household of faith.
In church, we call each other brother and sister, and elders are treated as mothers and fathers.
1Timothy 5:1-2
1 Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren;
2 The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity.
So then, our own family ought to be in order FIRST. If you want to minister, then minister to your
family FIRST, so that as a family you can minister to the church family.
The family is where the knowledge of God is perpetuated in the hearts of the children; where
God is to be taught.
Deuteronomy 6:7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them
when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down,
and when thou risest up.
Psalm 78:4 We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the
praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done… (7) That they
might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:
Ephesians 6:4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the
nurture and admonition of the Lord.
3. To NEGLECT our families for ministry is a FAILURE to honor God.
1Timothy 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he
hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
HOW can we spend hours in church ministering when our families are abandoned?
HOW can we say we are serving the Lord when our wives/husbands are sick, or our children
need their father/mother at home to spend time with him/her?
HOW many pastors’ children have gone down the wrong path because father spent all his time
ministering when he should have been at home?
This is NOT the way. This is NOT God’s plan for service or families. God did not design this,
men have. The apostle Paul knew that those with families are to seek the WELFARE of their
families when he said:
1Corinthians 7:33-34
33 But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his
wife.
34 There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the
things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth
for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.
Brethren, open your eyes! STOP this push for ministry, ministry, and STOP neglecting families!
Where is father? He is doing his ministry.
Where is mother? She is all alone at home, not feeling well, tired, and lonely.
Where are the children? Out on the street, hanging out with ungodly friends, learning
ungodly behaviors.
Let us hear the CONCLUSION of the matter: Take care of your family in every way: physical
needs, emotional needs, spiritual needs! If you want to spend your time on ministry first, then do
not get married.
