Entry-Level Workforce
• Introduction to surface, underground and aggregates
• From exploration to reclamation
• 6 weeks in length
• Two week classroom component and 14 safety related
tickets, skid steer certification and mine tours

• Mining and heavy construction safety related
tickets/certifications
• Class 1 – 4 driver training
• Red Seal challenge courses
• Technical upgrading courses: Electrical Code,
Programmable Logic Control, Welder Testing
(CWB, ASME etc.), Hydraulics, Scaffolding

5. Women in Trades Training
• Introduces women to a variety of trades found
within the mining sector
• 14 weeks in length
• Multiple safety and heavy construction related
tickets
• Female participation at STT has increased from 5%
to 17% within the last 3 years
