Browsers have come a long way but still struggle to balance implementing new features while maintaining compatibility. - Web pages have gotten slower and larger over time due to an emphasis on appearance over performance and a reluctance to drop legacy techniques. Many modern solutions make the web more complex without real benefits. - Developers should provide better feedback to browsers, demand stronger support for baseline functionality, and stop catering to outdated browsers to encourage continued progress toward an interoperable web. Simpler, more sustainable approaches would benefit all.
