Motion, the Fourth Dimension of Design explores how digital and physical design are converging through concepts like "phygital". Installations at Milan Design Week highlighted this trend with products combining digital and tactile elements. Some created immersive spaces using mirrors, lights and materials that invited physical interaction beyond simple observation. Motion was also represented through time-based changes in lights, colors and aging of materials. Overall the exhibition showed how movement and transformation are becoming integral to innovative design.
The trends of Salone Del Mobile Milan 2016 MILDBERRY
Each spring, designers from all over the world head to Milan in order to visit the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, the most important annual furniture fair in the world. Lots of cities hold their own design weeks, however, the Salone is the first event, which grew into a large-scale arts and culture festival, becoming an incubator for ideas, a venue for inspiration and a good show case of design accomplishments.
Vasily Kassab, Executive Creative director at Mildberry, who used to study and work in Milan, has been attending the annual fair since 2010. He was always keeping an eye on it and the latest design tendencies. After every trip he shares his impressions on the remarkable trends spotted around the fair. Usually, these trends get weaved into the projects we do for our clients. In this presentation you may find the latest observations of the Salone del Mobile 2016.

THE Stylemate issue 03|2021 - into the futureTHE Stylemate
Our future seems more uncertain than ever, and even harder to predict. The small-scale way to look at it is in terms of what the winter will bring for tourism, while the broader question is a matter of considering the climate crisis. That’s why we’ve made the future the topic of this issue of THE Stylemate.

Today’s devices, interfaces, screens and apps are no longer local. This panel will introduce empirical research and field experiences on how people from different cultures, languages and places may interact with digital products and services differently through real-world examples of successes and failures. The panelists will offer design heuristics for how to approach interactive projects considering globalisation, multilingualism and cultural sensitivity.
