This document defines and describes different types of migration. It begins by defining migration as the permanent or temporary movement of people between locations. It then outlines the different levels of migration, including international migration (immigration and emigration across country borders), and internal migration such as interstate, intrastate, interdistrict, and intradistrict migration within a country. Examples are provided of Keralites working abroad to illustrate international migration and North Indian laborers working in Kerala's construction sector to exemplify internal migration.
