Converge aims to resource hundreds of partner projects with trained student volunteers globally. The platform will include students, field hosts, mentors, and donors who support student scholarships. John outlines several staff roles needed to launch and run the Converge community and online platform.

Rich messaging apps have become hugely popular social platforms in Asia, led by KakaoTalk in Korea and LINE in Japan/Southeast Asia. These apps allow users to text but also integrate other services like games, commerce, and content discovery through their contact networks. KakaoTalk has 65 million users in Korea sending 4 billion messages daily, while LINE has over 70 million users, more than half from outside Japan. Telecom and internet companies are responding by partnering with or developing their own rich messaging apps to engage users and drive revenue from new services.

Connecting Through Social Media (NCSSSMST 2011)Corey Alderdice
Social media is media that allows for sharing and user-generated content through social interaction online. It transforms one-way broadcast media into two-way conversations. Social media supports democratizing knowledge by allowing people to be producers, not just consumers, of content. Popular social media sites include Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Flickr.
This document discusses using Google tools like Google Reader and Google Docs to enhance learning. Google Reader allows users to subscribe to RSS feeds and have information pushed to them, rather than having to search for it. Google Docs allows collaboration on documents, spreadsheets and presentations in the cloud without file uploads. The document provides examples of how teachers can use these tools to curate resources, give feedback to students, and facilitate group projects.
The document identifies seven "counterfeit gospels" that Christians sometimes rely on instead of relying fully on God's grace. These include formalism, legalism, mysticism, activism, biblicism, therapism, and social-ism. Each counterfeit gospel is described as focusing on religious rules, experiences, knowledge, social relationships, or good works rather than embracing God's unconditional love and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. The conclusion emphasizes that the true gospel is found only in Jesus, who came to free people from slavery to lesser things so they can know true freedom.
This document discusses how new media and social media can be used for evangelization efforts. It provides examples of two ministry programs - a bereavement ministry and a Mass journal project - at St. Antoninus Parish that have started using social media. For the bereavement ministry, a Facebook group and website were created to connect with and provide ongoing support to grieving families. The Mass journal project involved distributing journals for parishioners to reflect on the scripture readings and homilies each week, with a website and Facebook group used to facilitate discussion. Both efforts aim to connect people, energize them spiritually, and share information to strengthen their faith communities through new forms of online engagement.

manage the stresses of the cyber-lifestyle. Some are choosing to flip the script, using digital solutions to excite the workforce about self-care. For example, to get workers moving during the workday, some workplaces sponsor competitions in which employees
use health trackers to complete walking challenges, with top-ranked movers reported on the intranet.

This document provides an overview of the Book of Judges in the Hebrew Bible. It summarizes the key events and figures in three parts: 1) After Joshua's generation dies, the Israelites turn away from God and are ruled by various judges; 2) The exploits of judges like Othniel, Ehud, Deborah, Gideon, and Samson who deliver the Israelites from their enemies are described; 3) The document notes that despite these judges, the Israelites continue in a cycle of disobeying God, being oppressed by enemies, crying out for help, and receiving deliverance by judges, showing they are not fully faithful to God's covenant.
Industry Training Technology proposes developing virtual simulators and providing remote access to real equipment via the internet in order to address the high costs of university labs, the skills gap between graduates and industry needs, and restrictions on student access to expensive or dangerous equipment. Their solution would offer scalable, affordable hands-on training for technical specialists using virtual copies of instruments and remote control of real setups from any internet-connected device. The company aims to partner with universities and industries globally to train the next generation of skilled engineers through their virtual and remote laboratory platform.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202
