Present WASHINGTON WALLCOVERINGS, Brooklyn, New York
Director of Operations and sales
Responsible for all day-to-day operations and sales of a small, national, wholesale wallpaper company.
Participate (with the owner) in the hiring process. Train and mentor, directly supervise and evaluate a
staff of 18 in handling orders ranging from small local stores to major national companies (e.g. Home
Depot, Sherwin Williams, Wayfair) and some of the very largest home decor websites.
Handle all aspects of purchasing, and maintain the inventory (8,000 SKUs in stock at all times).
Oversee sales and disbursement of sample books with customers (for use at their locations, nationwide).
Also oversee the Customer Service Department, and personally intervene with larger accounts, more
timely or sensitive issues, or with escalated customer service incidents.
Responsible, too, for ensuring daily receipt postings to individual accounts.
Manage inventory and credit statement, and coordinate end-of-month closings, and annual closings, with
the accountant.
Additionally, function in the capacity of Warehouse Manager and Logistics Coordinator (since the
company acquired a new owner), handling all related work (merchandise receipt, inventory and returns,
etc.).
Managed all aspects of computer operations, including the initial computerization effort in the mid-1990’s
• Recognized, by the original owner for enabling substantial growth of the business by pursuing and
securing major national accounts and numerous, critical internet accounts.
• Entrusted with working in the capacity of CEO (2002-2012), while the original owner wound down his
involvement in daily operations of the business.
• Recognized for excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills
