Mexico celebrates several independence days in September and November. On September 13th, Mexico celebrates its victory over American troops in the Battle of Chapultepec, where six 13-year-old boys fought bravely. On September 16th, Mexico celebrates its independence from Spain, which began on this day in 1810 when Father Hidalgo rallied people to fight for liberty, starting a 10-year war. On November 20th, Mexico remembers the start of the battle against dictator Porfirio Diaz in 1920, ending his 30-year rule that brought development but also unfair treatment of many people.
