3. Lighting, flooring, Wall
Because the classroom has a large window that
emits a lot of lightning the children don’t need an
even brighter light in the classroom. Dimmed
lights are proven to improve focus, are easy on
the eyes, and also reduce anxiety.
Dim lighting improves classroom behavior and
can positively affect emotions. (Hodge, 2022)
Vinyl flooring is durable flooring that lasts for a
long time. It’s perfect for areas that have a lot of
foot traffic.
Vinyl titling has a layer that resists stains and
spills. Where children are more prone to making
messes it’s perfect for the classroom.
Because it is a smooth surface the children can
crawl on the ground without hurting their knees,
and they are able to roll their toys along the floor.
It serves the purpose of reducing echoes and
noises in the classroom. (Crail, 2022)
Summer white is a neutral color that allows the
different items placed on the wall to be more
visible and stand out. Children can focus on the
teacher and their work when the wall isn't bright
colors

4. Science Area
Dim or natural lighting provides a calming
environment. For example, when enough natural
light comes through windows, dimming the lights
supports students Sensory Integration needs by
decreasing visual stimulation.
Light table: Magnetic tiles on the light table. If you
already have magnetic tiles, then the children will be
on the light table. The light table is a way that the
children are introduced to fine motor development,
hand-eye coordination, pre-writing skills, and color
recognition with the plastic cups.
Overall, providing children with storage can be an important aspect
of promoting organization, independence, and metacognition in the
classroom. By empowering children to take ownership of their
learning resources, we can help support their growth and
development as learners.
Storage (Window shelf): The shelf will be a wooden shelf with
the exact style of the picture. It will be used for the placement of
the equipment of the light table to be placed like the extra
plastic cups. The storage will be beside the window where the
children have natural light coming in.

5. Science Area
The wicker basket adds that natural texture to the science
area. The small materials can be placed into these
baskets. Like loose parts for children to involve in their
experiments etc. The basket would contain items where
the children can collect data like pencils, markers, little
notepads,
This area is available for about four
children. This allows the area to not be
too noisy where it is close to the quiet
area. And there wouldn’t be too many
children in the area so that the children
can reflect on any scientific discovery
that they may have done.
Clear bins with labels and pictures: The containers
can make it easier for researchers to locate any
materials they may require fast when doing tests
and studies.
Clear bins allow children to take the initiative to test
discoveries and experiments in their play) which
contributes to
It’s easier for the children to place the items back
where they got them with this type of container. It
also helps children with cleaning up on their own.
The clear bins would contain inquiry tools like
magnifying glasses, Petri dishes, etc.

6. “ Good lighting is ultimately a matter
of achieving a desired look and feel.
Lighting can shape our moods”(Karre,
2003, p.5).
A good lighting provides a calming environment that boosts the
children’s mood and encourages a comfortable space where the
children can wind down and destress. Dim lights are not too
bright for the eyes of the children, so it doesn’t cause
overstimulation in children who are sensitive to light.
Bathroom
“This allows a feeling of privacy
while still providing for safety and
supervising” (Greenman, 2005a).
Providing the children with a
spreading wall between the toilet
(child-size toilet – easier for the
children to use with assistance) for
them to have a sense of privacy and
it is also a way for the children to
respect each other boundaries.
The toilet paper holder is giving the
children easy access to pull the
toilet paper easily. It also prevents
the children from messing up the
toilet paper roll and removing it
from the holder which only an adult
will be able to.
Beige walls go with every single
color, it also plays nicely with every
single decorating style so the posters
on the wall could stand out which
makes it aesthetically pleasing.
Tile flooring is suitable for the
bathroom flooring because the
flooring wouldn't be so slipper for the
children, but also, the Tile
complements the wall which makes it
stand out.
When providing clear pipes
for the children to see
when the water is drained,
they are observing the
circulation of the water.
When the children have
the chance to observe they
can talk about what they
saw with their peers and
discover new connections
through interest.

7. BATHROOM
“Assist children to be independent by
providing colors or picture codes for the hot
faucet or cold faucet, and by posting
pictures of the proper handwashing
procedures” (Julie Bullard, p128).
By proving the children with visual guidance
above the sink when washing their hands, it’s a
way for the children to demonstrate that they are
competent to do it on their own and indirectly
guide children in washing their hands.
Motivate and inspire them to do what is it. This is
also a way that the educator can set indirect
guidance for the children and set an expectation
for them that the educator expects of them.
These are inspirational quotes that provide the
children with positive energy and expected
behaviors.

and increase productivity” (Cheeky Plant Co, 2023).
Having plants in the bathroom
which it would be close to the
entrance, purifies the air, and
nature in the sterile room
eliminates bacteria and
absorbs extra moisture which
makes the bathroom
aesthetically more pleasing for
the children to look at.
Hanging plants in the
corner of the bathroom
would give the energy
in the room to be more
positive and to be
more relaxing for the
children.
When giving the
children something
to focus on when
they are on the toilet
which they could be
practicing like their
number or alphabet.
The children are also
identifying the colors
of the posters.

8. Sense of belonging and well-
being: The art takes the children
into their world where they can
explore their thoughts and
feelings free of judgment.
Engagement: The art area
provides the children with many
ways. to engage in creative
activities (Ontario Ministry of
Education, 2014, p.23).
The vertical space is beneficial for
children who prefer standing up rather
than sitting down. It encourages hand-
eye coordination and gives the
children a better view of their work.
The wall easel is good for
demonstrating their gross and fine
motor skills. The vertical wall space
allows the art area to have a lot of
space for the children to move freely.
Art
Area
Cabinets for storing art supplies are a practical instructional
tool. So that teachers and their students may all spend less
time looking for what they need and more time finishing their
creative work, these storage cabinets teach kids the value of
organization efficiency, and neatness.
The children would wear aprons when doing
art because, so it keeps their clothes clean
and from getting spills such as stains as they
paint. When the children are putting on the
apron, they can try and independently do it
themselves rather than with the educator’s
help. Moreover, aprons can be personalized
with the child’s name and one of
their favorite artworks which help foster
enthusiasm in children and also give a sense
of pride.

9. Providing a clear pipe for the
children to see when washing
their hands that paint on would
be an observing interest that
the children can discuss with
each other and their educator
how the colors mix when going
down the pipes at the sink.
This is a small shelf that would have
small plastic bins with labels and
visuals to indicate where everything
goes, and to organize the art materials
that the children would commonly use
like crayons, brushes, markers, etc.
The drying rack is for the children to
practice and show independence so
that they can place their artwork in
the drying rack themselves which
would help boost self-esteem.
Art
Area
This table is for the children that want to
find a place to sit and complete working
on their art and it is also a way for the
children to have a sitting time to rest
and recharge to focus on their art,
This table would have four chairs because it limits how
many children can sit at the table at once so it’s easier for
the children to be focused and pay more attention to their
artwork. This table is also easier for the educator to clean.
These art posters would indicate a
classroom project that involved all
the children engaging and work
together to paint their hands. They
would write down their names on
the painted hands which would state
that they have a space within the
classroom and that they belong
there.
