The Role of a Community Foundation
Who are we?
The Community Foundation in Wales is a charitable business dedicated to strengthening and enriching local
    communities by inspiring and managing philanthropy

Our vision is: A Wales with a thriving voluntary and community sector, where local people lead projects and
    have the financial resources to develop their own solutions based on need

We help people give so that local people can achieve inspiring things in their communities

 What do we do?
We provide three core services:
1. Philanthropy advice
2. Grant programme management
3. Investment management (financial and social capital)

•Awarded £1.7 million in grants last year

•Partners/stakeholders include: Charity Commission, Welsh Government, WCVA, Community Foundation

ambitious plans
•Quality Assured through a dedicated community foundation programme endorsed by the Charity
Commission

•Lord Lieutenants of Wales are our Vice Presidents, HRH Prince of Wales is patron of Fund for Wales

•Recent initiatives: Fund for Wales, localgiving.com, Philanthropy Week

•Member of a UK network: 60 CFs, £281 million held in endowment, £61 million in grants, 23,400 donors
