The Attorney General is furious with insurance lobbyists for pressuring prosecutors to bring a weak case against a man to further the lobbyists' interests. They had not properly prepared evidence and witnesses, expecting the man to acquiesce without a fight. The AG realizes the lobbyists are destroying lives and the integrity of the legal system. When confronted, the lobbyists threaten the AG by implying they can fabricate evidence to end his career if he does not cooperate.
