Inhibition, kinetic and thermodynamic effects of new Azo derivatives on iron ...Al Baha University
This investigation is designed to apply an advanced kinetic-thermodynamic model on the experimental data obtained from acidic and alkaline corrosion of iron using mono- and bis-azo dyes as corrosion inhibitors. The inhibition properties of the tested azo dyes on corrosion of iron in HNO3 and NaOH media were analyzed by gravimetric, thermometric and polarization measurements. The three studied methods gave consistent results. Polarization study showed that all the inhibitors are mixed type in acidic, act mainly as cathodic in alkaline solution. The synthesized azo dye derivatives exhibit good inhibition properties, obeys the Frumkin adsorption isotherm. The large values of the change in the standard free energy of adsorption (∆Goads), equilibrium constant (Kads) and binding constant (Kb) revealed that the reactions proceed spontaneously and result in highly efficient physisorption mechanism and stronger electrical interaction between the double layer existing at the phase boundary and the adsorbing molecules. The inhibition efficiency depends on the number of adsorption oxygen sites (OH and OMe groups), their charge density and π-electron clouds. The inhibition efficiency evaluated via theoretical methods was well accorded with reported experimental ones, following the same order as: -naphthyl- ligand > -naphthyl>p-anisdine>p-toluidine >o-toluidine >m-toluidine derivative. This research might provide a theoretical inhibition performance evaluation approach for homologous inhibitors.
This document summarizes research on the electro-thermal and semiconductivity properties of a natural sintered complex carbonate ore. The ore was subjected to sintering treatments at temperatures ranging from 573 to 1273 K. Chemical, spectral, X-ray and thermal analyses were conducted on the native and sintered ore samples. The electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, and thermoelectric power coefficient of the sintered ore materials were investigated as a function of temperature. Results showed that increasing the sintering temperature improved the electrical conductivity of the ore due to increased crystallinity and a more ordered crystal structure. Electron hopping between iron ions was found to be the main charge carrier mechanism.

Thermodynamic Studies on Sulphate Roasting for Zinc Electrowinning from Carbonate Ore
The bulk of the work consists of a theoretical study of the possibility of submitting Umm-Gheig carbonate ore to sulphate roasting. The use of the admixture with pyrites is to enable a carbonate ore to be treated in a similar way to a sulphide ore, and by doing so, to produce a roasted product capable of being treated by orthodox zinc electrowinning methods using sulphate solutions. Thermodynamic studies have been made to find the optimum conditions for sulphate roasting, in either normal air or enriched 36% oxygen air. The results obtained from the experimental work at different roasting temperatures in a tube furnace indicated that a maximum dissolu- tion of 91.2% Zn with a 17.9% Fe could be obtained at a roasting temperature of 650°C for 4 h, followed by leaching in 4% H2S04 (by vol.) at 60°C. The results of the electron microscopic investigation confirmed by metal value data given in the ASTM cards coincide well with results given by chemical analysis

Abstract
Stibnite ore at Wadi Abu Quraiya, situated in the central Eastern Desert of Egypt has been subjected to petrographical, mineralogical, infrared, X-ray diffraction, chemical and spectral analyses. Hydrometallurgical treatment based on leaching with acids, precipitation and electrode- position of metal values from the ore have been developed. Studies to investigate suitable electrolytic baths for the cathodic deposition of metallic antimony either directly from the leach liquor or in the presence of complexing agents have been carded out. The influence of various factors on the electrodeposition process of the element from its electrolyte solutions is discussed. Advantages of the flowsheet and various approaches depending on convenient electrolytes for the deposition of antimony from the stibnite ore have been investigated. The results of spectrophoto- metric and chemical analyses revealed that the purity of the metal is > 99%.
The document discusses what it means to live according to the Spirit rather than the flesh. It states that those who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God, not slaves to fear. It describes how the Spirit testifies that believers are God's children and heirs with Christ. Living by the Spirit involves putting to death misdeeds of the body and being led by the Spirit rather than fleshly desires, ensuring eternal life rather than death.
This document summarizes an experiment conducted by Vania Lundina to verify how the length of a conductor affects its resistance according to Ohm's Law. The experiment involved measuring the resistance of copper wires of varying lengths (10-35 cm) using a voltmeter, ammeter, and power supply. The results showed that resistance increased with increasing length, supporting the conclusion that resistance is directly proportional to length as predicted by Ohm's Law. Some variability between trials was attributed to inaccuracies in measuring wire length.

4. Media Use – What Do these results
mean?
Looking back atgraph one and my media use for the
past ten days it is no surprise to me that the ‘Social
Networking’ category takes first place. I am
an extremely busy person with UNI full-time
and work part-time, I rely heavily on
social networking to remain in touch with,
not only friends, but the world. The ‘Social
Networking’ category can be split into three sub
categories which are shown in the table below.
5. Media Use – Social Networking
Bloging, twitter and facebook are my three main
uses of social networking. Below is a table to show
how much time I spend on each over ten days.

7. Media Use – Social Networking
As you can see in table two and graph two facebook is the largest part
of my ‘Social Networking.’ Along with 44.2%
of my classmates, I too have aniphone and
I amone of the 412students that uses a
facebook app on a smart phone. Due to my
busy schedule the convenience of having facebook at the touch of a
finger means that I spend a majority of my spare
time usingthis social networking medium.
In the sample of 306 students I am one who did not have twitter.
Also from the sample of 272 students I am one that has not
blogedpreviously to JOUR1111. Throughout the process of recording
my‘Social Networking’ I set up twitter and bloging accounts. I am not a
bigfan of twitter or bloging, however it is necessaryfor me to usethis
mediafor my assessment. Bloging/twitter only account for 31% of my
social network use, as facebook is my preferred social networking
medium.
8. Media Use -Television
Television came in second place at 28% of total
media use, showing that I watched 375 minutes
of television in ten days. Compared to my peers
result of 29.9% of students watching 1-2hours of
television per day, my overall usage seems fairly
slim. As I stated previously I barely find time to sit, let
alonewatch television. If I do, a majority of it is to
check News or Current affair shows, as
demonstrated In pie graph three below.

10. Media Use - Online
As well as having aniphone
I fall within the 13.7% of
students that have anipad. Having
this technology at my fingertips means
I can quickly and easily check the
news online as well as general research. My main source
of news is online as I feel I can directly access what I
stories I want, when I want them. I also find it easier to
get the most updated and recent stories online. Unlike print
media, the online news is updated regularly with
developments in stories and breaking news.
11. Media Use - Radio
Table one and pie graph one show that I only listen
to 61 minutes of radio over ten days. I drive my car
often and fall into the 53.9% of students who
listen to less than an hour of radio per day.
I prefer to listen to music on myiphone as I
can choose the music.I
only use the radio for news and
traffic updates.

13. Media Production
As you can see fromtable three,
my main outlet for media
production is ‘Email/Texting.’
Having these applications
available on myiphone make
it the most convenientway
to produce media and stay in
contact with people, both for personal and
business use.

Above is a pie graph of my media production
over a ten day period. Note: the results are in

15. Media Production
When comparing table one and three it is
evident that mymedia production is far less
than my media use. I attribute this to the fact
that I am very much an information person.
Before I comment on issues I like to use the
internet and social networking sites to gather
thefacts. I believe this is a key skill for any
goodjournalist.
16. When, Where, Why and How I
Use/Produce Media?
From the tables and graphs we
can see thatmy iphoneandipadare
the main source of how I
produce and use media. With
my busy lifestyle having the
convenience of emails,
text, facebook, twitter and news
at my fingertips it is easy to see
why I access media this way.
17. Is There A Wider Pattern?
Through anaylsing my media use and
production over ten days it can be
concluded that there is definitely a pattern
emerging.
What Is The Pattern?
From the results it is easy to see that my main
source of media use and production stem from
online sources and outlets I can access any
time, any where, on myiphone oripad.
18. What Does This Say About My
Relationship With Journalism and
Communication?
After analysing the results
there are three main
observations
of my media usage and
production that I believe show
a strong relationship between
myself and Journalism
and Communication.
19. My Relationship to Journalism and
Communication
1. Social networking plays the greatest role in
my media use/production – this shows my
addiction to constant communication
2. News online takes up the greatest majority of
my online behavior
3. I rarely have time to watch the television, but
when I do it is news or current affair programs
20. How Does This Differ To My Peers?
Compared to my peers it is evident that,
although a majority of my media usage
production is done
online, I spend far less
time on the internet, with
29.6% saying they use
the internet 2-3 hours
a day.
21. Summary
In summary it is evident from both my peers survey and my
individual media use diary that social network and online
mediums occupy a majority of our media use and production.
this can be greatly attributed to technologies
such as iphones, ipads and laptops which allow
us to easily access the internet anywhere and
in any form we want, facebook, news etc. In relation
to Journalism and Communication, these new technologies allow
us to multitask and communicate on platforms like facebook as
well as investigate news stories. Having this at the touch of a
button will allow us to effectively research, write and advertise
our stories faster and more accurately than in the past.
