Our film is about a young black girl who gets severely bullied
at school, this has had an impact on her home life she has cut
herself, started smoking and has being a relatively anti social
person, and this has led to a fatal tragedy.
The opening of the film is going to be the end of the film and
then its going to cross cut almost like a flash back to her being
bullied for an instant second, and then back to reality and in
that time she’s running her death bath, as she drowns herself
whilst having a fag in the bath. Then after this it’ll go into the
title sequence and the beginning of the film.

Which film company would produce your
movie and how would that effect pde?
• Our film would be produced by the creators of Mean Girls (Paramount Pictures and
M.G Films) as they have experience of producing teen films and would probably do
a great job a making sure it is of high quality. The distributors would consists of
small and large companies depending on the different countries. Some of the
companies that helped distribute mean girls are: Paramount pictures, Bonton
film,Net5 etc. Picking small and large companies will mean that our movie will reach
a wider amount of potential viewers which will mean that the movie will generate
more revenue. Distribution can also happen at movie film conventions, for example,
showing a crowd of people he trailer of the teen movie. Exchange is also consists of
creating games for teens to play, trailers, full cover spreads on magazines, billboards,
e-ads etc.
The subgenre of our teen film is mainly thriller/drama.
We think that this is a suitable genre for our film as the events that occur in our film feature
thriller/drama like events.
Some real film openings that have inspired us are:
Adulthood, this is because at the opening of adulthood it shows the events of the previous film
‘kidulthood’. During the opening sequence we see the tragedy of the main character. This is
similar to the opening of our film as our film begins with a tragedy showing flash backs of events
within the film. The opening of our film leaves the audience intrigued and wanting to know more
about what caused the tragedy.
Additionally another film that inspired us is a short film called ‘identity’. This film inspired us
because it shows a young girl, who is in search of her identity whilst going through the struggles
of being out casted in school and bullied. This film is a drama and features similar themes that
occur in our film opening such as bullying and depression.
Our main target audience is young teens as well as young adults the age group
is aimed at those between the age of 12-22, boys and girls because both sex
characters are featured in the film.
We have chosen this as our are age group as we believe people between these
ages will relate to our film the most. The reason for this is because young teens
are often the victims of theme such as bullying, abuse, depression etc.
Furthermore we think it will appeal to this audience as they are the people who
are most effect by the events within the film, therefor they are the most likely
to watch the film. The main aim of the film is to give bullies and young people
a different perspective on bullying and the consequences of it.
