- 1. Mise-en-scene By David Spratt
- 2. What is Mise-en-scene? • Mise-en-scene is everything that is on the screen/scene. • It is all to do with the props, lighting, costume, location, décor and actors. • Using mise-en-scene helps people understand what type of genre the film and or program is and helps us as an audience understand what kind of people the characters are what help us understand the scene. • It can be used to show who is the main character, what they are like and why they are wearing what they are wearing.

- 4. Write up of notes • From looking at our notes from the opening title of vantage point I can tell that it involves USA. I can tell this because it is shown in the décor/props where people are holding signs that say USA with a red line going though. Everyone in the film seems to be protesting but there is also men in suits and blacked out company cars which shows importance. • By looking at the props we see someone loading a sniper rifle which shows the film has a tense theme to it and shows that the film is either going to be a thriller and or an action film. This gives us as an audience a question on what genre it falls into. • We can tell its set in Spain because of the location and from putting that and the USA signs it shows that it involves both USA and Spain. The lighting is dim and dark at times which creates suspense for the film/opening titles. • We can see that there is a lot of police and protesters which indicates that something with the president is happening, what also backs this up is the mass amount of people and the formally dressed men and blacked out cars. This all links to an important occasion.
