- 2. Filming ideas For my media music video I’ve decided to make a version of ELO’s (Electric Light Orchestra’s) Mr Blue Sky. A cheerful song, that can be represented with happy people going about their lives, since the song has a rather fast beat, it could be represented with fast movements e.g. someone running, looking out of a car/train window and watching the background go by fast etc… Just like in the Chemical Brother’s ‘Star Guitar.’ I’d like to start off the video with someone tuning a radio, since that’s how the song starts. Once the beat comes up, I’ll film someone playing that instrument to the tune, just like how it was in ABBA’s Mamma Mia. I think that if I copy this idea, it’ll avoid any encounter with the person and the camera, as not everyone (including myself) likes being in the camera. The close-ups of the instruments playing shows the viewers what instruments are being used to make the start of the video possible.
- 3. Filming ideas When it comes to the singing in the song, I think I’ll have the camera only showing the person’s mouths lip singing to the song. This also gets rid of any awkwardness with the camera, and it’s a perfect opportunity to have a compilation of people’s lower part of their face on camera singing to song. Also just like ABBA in Mamma Mia, when the camera keeps changing to the people’s faces at different words. If I’m to include the person’s face, then I’ll have extreme close-ups of the person’s face, since the music video to the song doesn’t include dancing, I don’t really have to ask anyone to learn some dance moves for the video.
