During the production of the magazine including front cover,
contents page and double page spread I had considered to aim
the product at an audience aged between 15 and 30 as the
functions that the magazine uses may appeal to this age range
including the type of music, formality of writing and style of
imaging. The magazines that Bauer media produce including Q
magazine which is what my magazine is based also seem to aim
at this age range.
This will also include how much they are willing to spend on the
actual magazine which I would hope to be around £2-£4 based
on the appearance and features that it incorporates.
3.
The magazine that I have produced uses professional
conventions of a real magazine as the style and appearance
was also based on a real magazine from flat plan design to
the actual production. This being Q magazine. With the use of
Photoshop I have tried to complete a visually appealing set of
pages for a music magazine in that this will give a publisher
reason to publish my magazine.
The style of magazine that I have produced is based around a
variety of music genres which will help to fit with other
products that the publisher may also have as they to may be
based around many genres of music to appeal to all
audiences rather then one in particular.
4.
A webpage, Twitter and Facebook account would
be beneficial in actually finding the specific
publisher but more importantly being able to
advertise the product/ music magazine to ensure
attention and consistent sales in the case if it were
actually to be published. These factors would be
beneficial overall towards my music magazine. In
this case Bauer media use a Facebook and twitter
account complimented by a website.
5.
Though my magazine presents a variety of music genres the
style in particular may appear unique overall so this may
appear as something that could fill a gap in the publishers
product range as it is hosting something that is missing. The
fact that the style is different and that some music genres
may be focused on in particular, more so than others, which
may help to focus on specific audiences.
As mentioned the style of my music magazine may appear as
an advantage towards a publisher as it may seem unique in
general to most other magazines. As well as the style of
writing, the balance of formality and informality of the writing
and the use of Photoshop within the imaging to produce a
professional appearance. However what I have presented
seems to focus on only one audience really towards the style
of music which overall is a disadvantage.
