Parasites Associated with wild-caught houseflies in Awka metropololisIOSR Journals
Investigation of parasites associated with wild-caught houseflies in Awka metropolis, Anambra State, southeastern Nigeria, was undertaken between April and August, 2012. Locally designed fly traps were used to collect flies. The flies were identified into genera and species using their characteristic features. These flies were demobilized by chilling, washed with sterilized distilled water, and the suspension homogenised before processing for parasites on their external body parts. For internal parasites, the external surfaces of the flies were sterilized with 70% alcohol, squashed to release the internal contents and the suspension homogenized with 100ml distilled water. Aliquots of the suspensions from both the internal and external contents of the flies were used for parasite isolations and identification using standard parasitological techniques. Eight fly species were processed for parasites identification. Parasites isolated from the flies were Entamoeba histolytica cysts, Hookworm ova, Ascaris lumbricoides ova, and Trichuris trichiura ova. All the parasites isolated were from the external surfaces of the flies. This reveals the fact that wild-caught flies, especially M. domestica, harbour parasites on their bodies, which can cause diseases. Hence, there is need for improved sanitation in our urban communities, to prevent epidemics associated with poor sanitary conditions.

Molecular and Bacteriological Examination of Cow Milk in Coliform MastitisIOSR Journals
In the present study, 20 samples of milk of cow, pasteurized milk were collected from the local market and were analyzed for microbial count and IMViC tests to determine the coliform load in the sample. Further, the presence of E. coli (KC795687) was confirmed by using PCR and 16srna sequencing. Majority of the milk samples of different origin were found to be contaminated by the coliform group of bacteria. The samples were found to be positive for E. coli by PCR analysis and 16srna sequencing. Pasteurized milk samples did not showed presence of E. coliby PCR, but they showed considerable count of bacterial growth by total plate count method. The results indicated that analyzed milk could contribute a potential risk for public health in the cases that it was consumed or used in the production of dairy products without being pasteurized or being subjected to a sufficient heat process. Moreover, PCR is less labor intensive, more rapid for bacterial identification and it further confirmed in 16srna sequencing.

The document summarizes a study that compared the sedative, pre-anesthetic, and anti-anxiety effects of Salix Aegyptiaca herbal extract to diazepam in rats. The study found that a 200 mg/kg dose of the Salix extract had less anesthesia induction time, longer anesthesia duration, and increased time spent in open arms of a maze compared to diazepam, indicating stronger pre-anesthetic and anti-anxiety effects. The study suggests these effects are likely due to flavonoids in the Salix extract acting on benzodiazepine receptors bound to GABA-A receptors in the brain.

Solar Thermochemical Conversion of CO2 into C via SnO2/SnO Redox Cycle: A The...IJERA Editor
In this paper we report the computational thermodynamic modeling of the solar thermochemical SnO2/SnO
redox cycle for solid C production via CO2 splitting. In this redox cycle, the first step corresponds to the solar
thermal reduction of SnO2 into SnO and O2 in presence of inert atmosphere. The second step, which is a nonsolar
exothermic stage, is the reaction of SnO with CO2 to produce solid C together with SnO2 that is recycled
back to the first step. Commercially available HSC Chemistry software and databases were used for the
computational thermodynamic modeling of this process. The thermodynamic analysis was performed in two
sections: 1) equilibrium composition analysis, and 2) exergy analysis. Results obtained via the computational
thermodynamic modeling are presented in detail. The simulation results indicate that the solar thermochemical
SnO2/SnO redox cycle for solid C production via CO2 splitting can achieve the solar to fuel conversion
efficiency upto 12%.

"Rethinking Kållered │ From Big Box to a Reuse Hub: A Transformation Journey Toward Sustainability"
The booklet of my master’s thesis at the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology. (Gothenburg, Sweden)
This thesis explores the transformation of the vacated (2023) IKEA store in Kållered, Sweden, into a "Reuse Hub" addressing various user types. The project aims to create a model for circular and sustainable economic practices that promote resource efficiency, waste reduction, and a shift in societal overconsumption patterns.
Reuse, though crucial in the circular economy, is one of the least studied areas. Most materials with reuse potential, especially in the construction sector, are recycled (downcycled), causing a greater loss of resources and energy. My project addresses barriers to reuse, such as difficult access to materials, storage, and logistics issues.
Aims:
• Enhancing Access to Reclaimed Materials: Creating a hub for reclaimed construction materials for both institutional and individual needs.
• Promoting Circular Economy: Showcasing the potential and variety of reusable materials and how they can drive a circular economy.
• Fostering Community Engagement: Developing spaces for social interaction around reuse-focused stores and workshops.
• Raising Awareness: Transforming a former consumerist symbol into a center for circular practices.
Highlights:
• The project emphasizes cross-sector collaboration with producers and wholesalers to repurpose surplus materials before they enter the recycling phase.
• This project can serve as a prototype for reusing many idle commercial buildings in different scales and sizes.
• The findings indicate that transforming large vacant properties can support sustainable practices and present an economically attractive business model with high social returns at the same time.
• It highlights the potential of how sustainable practices in the construction sector can drive societal change.
