MCM have spent a significant amount of time in developing a
service structure that is second to none. We will never be satisfied
with the status quo of being yet another removals provider that
delivers the same level of service as every other provider. We aim to
become the standard that every other service provider aspires to
become. We believe that exemplary service, coupled with
transparency in our pricing is the our key to our success, and we
would like nothing more than to share this with you.
4. A choice of service to suit you
Everyone has different needs, which is why no two MCM moves are ever the same. Whatever your situation, MCM offer a competitive choice of moving services.
This means we can personalise the entire move to suit your needs, your time and your budget.
Our range of Packaging Services
Our Managing Director has had an illustrious career in the packaging
industry, having spent several years working as an executive for a
prestigious global packaging supplier. As a result, MCM are confident
that our pricing and service packages are second to none. Our packing

are as follows:
Self Pack:

MCM can provide and deliver a full suite of packaging materials,
priced for your satisfaction.

You may choose to pack many of your items yourself, but arrange to
have a professional packing team from MCM to pack your most valued
and fragile items.

introduced, and exclusively offer, Female only packing teams.
Insurance Options
Protecting your goods throughout the moving process is very important,
which is why MCM provide fully insured services to protect your goods in
transit, and in storage.
Secure Storage
Our competitively priced Secure Storage Option allows you to store
anything from a single item, to the entire contents of your home. MCM can
provide our customers with safe, secure and affordable storage. Our
facilities are amongst the finest in the country having CCTV coverage,
security alarms, perimeter fencing and 24 hour security monitoring.
Using MCM means that you can relax in the knowledge that your effects
will be stored securely, will be fully insured and professionally handled
whilst in our care.
Our largest containers hold 250 cubic feet of goods and Insurance of your
property is included in our weekly charge. MCM understand that
sometimes the unforeseen can happen when moving home. We have
therefore developed, as part of our platinum service, one weeks storage
free of charge for any customer that chooses this Service.
Small Move Service
In addition to our various full move services, MCM also provide a small
move Man & Van service for customers that require a more basic level of
service. This service will provide a 3.5T Luton Van with Tail Lift, and one of
our dedicated employees to help you with anything you require for the day.
5. A guide to your move
The first thing you’ll want to know is how much your move will cost. We know every move is different, so it’s best to talk through
your needs with one of our dedicated customer service advisors. With our experience we will be able to provide you with a
comprehensive estimate. If at this stage you’re still happy to proceed, we would then recommend you to undertake one of our no
obligation home visits with one of our experienced move co-ordinators.
Stage 2
Stage 1
MCM will provide a no obligation home visit to determine the size and scale of the move, and to discuss any and all move options
with you. From this stage the move co-ordinator will be with you every step of the way, and provide you with the security to know
that you are not only in good hands, but are dealing with a truly professional service provider.
Your move co-ordinator will provide you with a move plan and quotation and will go though the details with you, answering any
questions you may have.
Advice is always available, and your move co-ordinator will ensure that everything you have requested is in your move plan. MCM will
then provide a detailed quotation based on the information received from our home visit, and from this stage you’ll know that every
aspect of the move will be meticulously planned, and efficiently executed.
Advice
Wherever possible MCM strongly advise that our customers undertake a no obligation house visit. The visit should last no more than
1 hour and will allow our consultant to assess and measure your items to determine the most cost effective course of action. This
assessment will include the type of transportation required to minimise the requirement of multiple loads, whilst making an
assessment on the type and quantity of packaging materials required to fully and securely pack all of your belongings.
Your move consultant will also ask you to identify any and all fragile and high value items so we can provide you with the best
recommendations for packaging materials and procedures.
It is important to give as much detail as you can to enable us to provide you with a detailed and accurate quotation.
6. A guide to our service packs

position. We would therefore like to share our detailed service structure with you. MCM currently offer 4 levels of service tailored specifically for your

8. Insurance and waivers
Peace of mind
Accidents can, and will inevitably happen, but our Goods in Transit and Storage Insurance will protect your beloved items and belongings from the home they are
leaving, right through to their final destination. Our insurance is underwritten by regulated insurance companies, and, in the event of a valid claim you will be
compensated for any losses that may occur as part of the moving process. Your goods will either be repaired, or replaced (based on the insurers findings).
Goods in Transit Insurance
There is no excess on MCM’s Goods in Transit insurance and we manage the claim settlement process in-house, dealing with you directly rather than outsourcing to a
third party.
Insurance protection
Like all removals companies, MCM does have a limit to which our terms & conditions allow for goods in transit and public liability insurance losses against damage to
your home, or your valued and beloved items. We have therefore developed a direct contact us approach to value added insurance for your peace of mind! Our service
allows our customers to buy additional cover (a waiver) to cover one, or both properties, and goods against accidental damage.
Exclusions
MCM terms & conditions and the terms of our insurance do not cover jewellery, watches, precious stones, money, coins, bullion, deeds, bonds, securities, stamps, furs,
tobacco, cigars and flammable items. It is advisable to pack these items yourself and carry them with you in your car.
9. Preparing for your move
Even though you’ve chosen the premier name in removals, there are still things you must consider before your move day. MCM have therefore developed a move
guide to help you prepare for your big day.
Packing and unpacking:
If you have decided to use MCM’s packing
service you can sit back and relax as you’re now
in good hands. Alternatively, if you have
decided to pack your belongings yourself,
please ensure that the packaging and
containers you use are strong enough to permit
stacking without damaging your contents.
Packaging such as boxes, paper, bubble wrap
and quality tape can be purchased directly from
MCM and delivered directly to your door. If you
wish to look at our range of packaging
materials, please visit: www.mcmlogistics.co.uk
Alternatively please call our free phone number
and one of our dedicated members of staff will
be more than happy to discuss your
requirements with you. Our free phone
number is: 0800 1337 169
When packing your items considerations
should be given to the number of heavy articles
placed in each container, as a carton full of
books can prove impossible to carry for even
the strongest member of our moving team. Our
advice is to only half fill containers with heavy
items, then fill with lighter objects.
Self-assembly furniture:
MCM will provide the dismantling and re-assembly of
furniture as part of our Gold and Platinum Service
packages.
For items that require a joiner, MCM can provide
skilled tradesman to undertake this task. We would
however recommend that wherever possible the
dismantling of antique furniture should be avoided
and moved as is.
Attics and Lofts:
MCM do not provide Attic and Loft clearing services
as standard in any of our current service packages.
This service can be provided as an additional option,
but can be a costly and time consuming exercise.
MCM therefore advise you clear your own attic and
place any belongings you wish to be packed and
shipped in one of your bedrooms prior to our
dedicated moving teams arrival.
Curtains, blinds and items fixed to walls:
The MCM Platinum service package provides an
instillation service that will hang curtains, blinds and
items at your new address, but does not provide the
dismantling of said items at your current address. It
must also be noted that the platinum service is an
expensive cost option. We therefore advise all wall
hanging items are removed and dealt with by the
customer.
Cookers, Washing Machines & Fridge/Freezers:
MCM provide, as part of our Platinum Service the
complete de-commissioning and re-installation of
all gas and electrical appliances.
Should you not choose our Platinum Package and
wish to deal with all of your Gas and Electrical
items yourself, we advise you undertake the
following before our moving team arrives.
All items should be disconnected and drained prior
to the moving teams arrival. To avoid damage to
any of your items, MCM advise the drum of your
automatic washing machine should be secured
with their original locking bolts provided by the
manufacturer.
To avoid any unpleasant smells or odours, MCM
advise that your fridge and freezer be washed out
with a strong solution of bicarbonate of soda and
hot water, not detergent.
10. Preparing for your move
Keep clothing on hangers:
Your clothing can remain on hangers as MCM will provide
wardrobe boxes on the day of your move free of charge. All
other items of clothing should be packed into suitcases ready
for the day of your big move.
Bedding and linen:
All bedding and linen should be placed on the bed ready to be
packed by our dedicated moving team, providing you have
chosen our packing service.
TV / Hi fi / Computers & Electrical Equipment:
This type of equipment is best moved in its original packaging,
as provided by the manufacturer. In the event that the
manufacturers packaging is no longer available, MCM will pack
carefully using the finest packing materials, but only if a
customer has selected a service pack that provides this type of
service.
China, Glass & Ornaments:
These items can be left in their respective cupboards and
cabinets ready for the moving team to pack (if this type of
service pack has been selected).
Contents of garages and garden sheds:
Ensure that any rubbish is discarded and all tools are bundled
together for ease of carrying. We cannot except any flammable
materials such as tins of paint, paraffin, matches, gas bottles or
any other such item, as this will completely invalidate any
insurance cover you may have taken with us. All other
containers need to be completely sealed, as not to create
spillage in loading, transit or unloading.
Pets:
MCM is unable to move pets as part of the conditions of our insurance.
Fitness Equipment:
MCM advise that all fitness equipment be dismantled, and
wherever possible, items be placed back into their original
packaging. If not available we will move your equipment as is, but
must factor this into transportation size, and this may result in a
quote for a larger vehicle.
Plants:
Wrap your plants in newspaper. This will protect them from draughts
and stops the leaves from being bruised. Once in your new home stand
them in the warm and don’t unwrap until the activity of the move has
finished. If your move occurs in summer, make sure you don’t leave
your plants in a hot car, or in the sun.
House Cleaning:
As part of our Gold & Platinum service, MCM will provide a full
cleaning service of your new home, once all items have been
unpacked and placed in their desired location. This is provided to give
you the peace of mind to know you truly are moving into the home
of your dreams from day one.
11. On moving day
So moving day has finally arrived and you’ve chosen MCM to pack for you. It’s now time to sit back and relax and let our professional packing team go to work! By
arranging this service you will not only save time and effort, but ensure your beloved and valued items are packed in a professional manner and shipped using the
finest methods available.
Protecting your home:
MCM will ensure your home is protected during your move. Special care
will be taken to ensure your walls, carpets, wooden floors, banisters and
doors are protected prior to moving your furniture.
Professional wrapping and packing:
A day or so before your actual move date, our dedicated packing team will
carry out this service using our own range of wrapping and packaging
materials to ensure your goods are protected during your move.
Silverware:
All silverware is wrapped in acid free tissue to prevent tarnishing.
China and Glassware:
All China and glassware will be individually wrapped and surrounded in
bubble wrap before being placed into specially marked double width boxes
and sealed using fragile tape.
Clothes and books:
Clothes on hangers will be placed in specially railed wardrobe cartons, and
books will be stacked carefully into double width boxes and itemised.
White goods and appliances:
We will pack your goods in bubble wrap and shrink film to protect them in
transit from dents, marks & scuffs.
Sofas:
Sofas, large chairs and mattresses have they’re very own specially
designed packaging to protect them from scrapes, scuffs and general
damage during transit.
Unpacking at your new home:
Our unpacking service consists of unpacking and unwrapping all of your
goods, then placing your items in any location you desire. Our
dedicated team will work under your direction, so we advise you have a
plan in mind on delivery day. As part of our service, all packaging
materials will be disposed of.
12. Safe and secure storage
In todays home moving market, storage has an increasingly important role to play and
can often be the difference between keeping or losing a sale.
Convenient collection:
MCM will arrive at your home and pack your possessions into a wooden storage
container. This means you do not have to transport the goods yourself, saving you the
cost of hiring a van and your time. It also means you won’t have to do the heavy work
of lifting your possessions yourself.
Short & long term storage:
As part of MCM’s platinum service package, we provide 1 weeks storage free of
charge (if required) to cater for any eventuality that may occur as part of the move
process. MCM introduced this as the handing over of keys and late transfers within
chains are a very common occurrence, giving you the peace of mind to know you can
still finalise your move without incurring any cancellation charges. MCM’s fully
insured short terms storage starts from as little as £20 per week. If you would like to
know more about our storage offerings, please visit the MCM website, or contact our
free phone number and one of our dedicated members of staff will be more than
happy to help.
Accurate records of your storage consignment:
If you are placing your goods into long term storage, you may not be accessing them
for some years. MCM will therefore create an inventory as part of the packing
process with a master data sheet retained by us and carbon copy for the customer to
retain.
Sealed at your residence:
For security purposes, your container will be sealed at your residence, wherever
possible, and will not be opened again until you are ready to take delivery.
Convenient delivery service:
When you are ready to take delivery, MCM will arrange a convenient
time for you and deliver your container to a destination of your
choosing.
Easy monthly payments:
MCM have facilities in place to set up monthly direct debit payments,
allowing you to stay in control of your items. Please note, your goods
may be at risk if you do not keep up with your monthly repayments.
See MCM’s terms & conditions for further information.
