3. UAE Golden Visa – Background
• UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity and
Citizenship (ICA) launched in 2019
its unique Golden Visa Program:
• Offering certain Categories of Individuals and
their families a Long-Term Residency Title in
the Country for either five or ten years
• Without the need of a national “Sponsor”,
or a national Employment, or a “sponsored”
Company, depending from the category
• Intention is to attract more Investors,
Entrepreneurs, specialized Talents and

bright Students with promising scientific
capabilities
• Legislation Base:
UAE Cabinet Resolution (CR) 2018.056
• At 01.04.2021, ICA extended the related Entry
Permit to a Period of 6 Months, which can be
extended one-time by another 6 months
• Entry Permit is issued as Multiple-Entry for
Investors, Entrepreneurs & outstanding Students
• Talented Individuals get the Entry Permit
issued as Single-Entry
• The Golden Visa will be renewed automatically
(if eligibility is given), which gives it a real long-

• Investor in Public Investments
• At least 10.0 Million AED (2.725 Million USD)
• Deposit in an Investment Fund inside UAE
• Company Establishment with Capital > 10M AED
• Partner in an existing or new Company with Shares > 10M AED
• Total Investment in all mentioned Areas > 10M AED,
but Investment apart from Real Estate must be > 60%
• Invested Amount must not be loaned
• Retention of Investment > 3 Years
• The 10 Year Residency can include Spouse, Children,
one Executive Director (!) and one Advisor (!)

7. Talents: 10 Year Visa Eligibility I
• Scientist
• Accredited by Emirates Scientists Council or
Holder of Mohammed Bin Rashid Medal for Scientific Excellence
• Creative in Culture & Arts
• Accredited by Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development
• Inventor
• Must obtain a Patent of Value, to be approved by Ministry of Economy
• Exceptional Talent
• Documented by Patents or Scientific Research published in a world-class Journal
• The 10 Year Residency can include Spouse and Children

8. Talents: 10 Year Visa Eligibility II
• Executive Director
• Must be owner of a leading and internationally recognized Company or
Holder of a High Academic Achievement / Position
• Doctor and Specialist must meet > 2 of the following Conditions
• Ph.D. from one of the Top 500 Universities in the World or
• Ph.D. plus > 10 Years professional Experience in his Field of Work
• Award or Certificates of Appreciation in his Field of Work
• Contribute to a major Scientific Research in his Field of Work
• Published Articles or Books in Distinguished Publications in his Field of Work
• Membership in a Field-Related Organization
• Specialization in UAE’s Areas of Priority
• The 10 Year Residency can include Spouse and Children

9. Investors: 5 Year Visa Eligibility
• Investor in a Property in the UAE
• Gross Value at least 5.0 Million AED (1.363 Million USD)
• Invested Amount must not be loaned
• Retention of the Property Investment > 3 Years
• The 5 Year Residency can include Spouse and Children

10. Entrepreneurs: 5 Year Visa Eligibility
• Existing Project or Incubation
• Existing Project with
a Minimum Capital of 500,000 AED (136,500 USD) or
• Project accredited in a Business Incubator in the UAE
• The 5 Year Residency can include Spouse, Children,
one Partner (!) and three Executives (!)

11. Students: 5 Year Visa Eligibility
• Outstanding Student
• Minimum Grade of 95% in public or private Secondary Schools or
• University Students with GPA > 3.8 upon Graduation,
within and outside the UAE
• The 5 Year Residency can include the Family Members
of the Outstanding Student

12. The Procedure
• The Visa Application can be started
• Online directly with the ICA
• Via the ‘ICA UAE’ App (Apple & Android)
• In any Tasheel Typing Centre
• In any ICA Customer Happiness Centre
• In the UAE’s Embassies and Consulates abroad
• Step 1 is the Entry Permit Application,
deciding about Applicant’s Eligibility
• All steps after receiving the Entry Permit
depend on Applicant’s Category
