I’m watching late night TV at home. I’ve had a light supper and I’m a little bit hungry. A McDonalds TV ad comes on and I’m getting hungrier just watching. But hoping it will pass.
I get a mobile notification with a message about McDonalds late night menu specials and remote ordering. I click the notification and launch the app. I can no longer resist the temptation.
When I get in my car, the McDonald’s app appears on my dashboard so I can place my order hands free while I’m driving. McDonald’s confirms my mobile payment method, a redundant payment confirmation appears on my smartphone.
When I pull up to the McDonalds pick up window, they just automatically know it’s me and they hand me my order as I lower the car window.
It took no more time to order and pick up McDonald’s than it did to drive there and get back to watching TV.
