Over 1300 elementary school students participated in FarmsCool Week, held in May 2010, to teach students about agriculture and where their food comes from. Each day focused on a different farming theme and had students engage through activities like wearing colored clothes and rotating between hands-on stations with farm animals. Feedback found the program effectively taught students that pork comes from pigs, hamburgers from cows, and the many products derived from plants and animals. It exposed most students to farming for the first time in a fun, interactive way.
