What?" Workshop

Are you a recent or soon-to-be ACC graduate? And, does the idea of writing a resume and
getting a job sound about as fun as a sharp stick in the eye? You are not alone. Most people
find the process of getting a job to be difficult, unpleasant, and a bit scary. In the current job
market, however, those who conduct the most effective job search and market themselves
with confidence rise above the competition to land the jobs they desire. Come join other
students and the Career Counselors for a fun and productive morning of resume writing, job
searching, networking strategies, and interview practice. With your improved resume, cover
letter, and step by step job search plan in hand, you will possess the knowledge and tools to
approach employers with more confidence and market yourself more effectively. What was
once difficult and scary will become easier and even exciting as you see more options for your
future and feel reassured by the hope that possibility brings!

Do you know your true talents? I don't just mean whether you can play
basketball or the piano really well - although these are certainly areas
where people excel due to natural ability and hard work. I am talking
about something deeper within you - ways of feeling, thinking, and
behaving that come to you instinctively, as if you were just born
knowing how to perceive and act in ways that are unique to you. These natural areas of talent
lie within us all, and are simply waiting to be discovered.
Combined with learning and skill development, our talents manifest into strengths that can be
applied productively and successfully in all areas of our lives, including school and work. At the
Career and Transfer Center, we can help you discover your talents and strengths with an
assessment called Strengths Quest, which is a FREE online instrument that takes only 20
minutes of your time. Strengths Quest is a reliable, valid assessment that has over 40 years of
research behind it and wide appeal among numerous colleges and universities as well as
Fortune 500 companies. Its creator, the Gallup Organization, claims that if we emphasize our
strengths in career and life, we will not only be more productive and successful, but far more
happy and healthy than if we were to pursue areas of weakness or mediocrity.
We have a limited amount of free test codes available to any ACC students, so please notify us
right away to secure your code. Once you take the assessment on your own, you can schedule
a career counseling appointment and we will explore your results with you and help you create
an action plan for applying your newly discovered strengths to your career.

Colorado work together to help you transfer with ease? Because of
this 2-4 year partnership and the work of Colorado's Department of
Higher Education, you have access to an amazing website that gives
you guidance on how to transfer individual classes through gT
(guaranteed transfer) or how to transfer entire Associate's
degrees! Check out their website to learn more about these useful
