Victoria Van Cleve has a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. She has experience in capstone design projects involving aircraft structures and flight dynamics modeling. She also has work experience in engineering graphics and design at Hexatron Engineering and as a research assistant at Embry-Riddle. Her skills include CAD software such as CATIA V5, technical writing, programming, and computer-aided design.

Capstone Aft Fuselage Project
Detail Design of an Aft Fuselage without a Torque Box: Worked in a team to design the detailed structure of the
aft fuselage of an aircraft without a torque box, given specific loading requirements. Sized all the joints and fittings between
structural members based upon the calculated stresses and shear flows due to the loading cases. Produced a 3D assembly
of all fittings and joints using CATIA V5, as well as engineering drawings for all parts and components.
Flight Dynamics and Controls (MATLAB & SIMULINK)
C5-A: Worked closely in a team to create a MATLAB code that analyzed the inherent dynamic stability of the C5-
A, a military cargo aircraft. Classical control theory was then applied to produce the necessary transfer functions in order
to model a flight control system in SIMULINK.The flight control system allowed the aircraft to climb to a specified altitude,
return to level flight, and execute a coordinated turn within an acceptable range of altitude loss. SIMULINK output real
time values of velocity, bank and pitch angles, control surface deflection angles, as well as engine thrust.
Aircraft Preliminary Design
Worked with a team to complete the preliminary design process for a middle of the market (MOM) multi-member
aircraft family, from concept design to aircraft performance, static stability characteristics, and trade studies. Using
MATLAB for analysis and CATIA V5 to produce 3D models and engineering drawings.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Daytona Beach,FL
Education in Graphical Communications Research Assistant Oct 2014 - Dec 2015
Mapped the responses of hundreds of Graphical Communications students in order to identify the topics that
students were experiencing difficulties with.
Helped generate standardized questions to pinpoint students’ mastery level of graphical communications concepts
and skills.
Hexatron Engineering Salt Lake City, UT
Intern May 2014 - Aug 2014
Produced engineering drawings and 3D models to communicate part designs. Performedhand calculations to insure
realistic results and compared to computer generated results.
Consulted with engineers on redesigning a 9G certified crew seat to be modified for a 16G impulse certification.
Conducted finite element analysis in CATIA V5 to insure adequate new design.
Embry-Riddle Equestrian Team Daytona Beach,FL
Club Treasurer and Team Coach Aug 2014 - April 2015
Handled club finances, organized and arranged over 3 fundraising events
Instructed members in the art of horseback riding with any level of experience from beginners to experienced
equestrians.
Mentored and guided over 5 members through the trials of competing in their first competitions
