Mathematicians Who Changed The World
IN HISTORY MATHEMATICS IS THE LANGUAGE OF OUR UNIVERSE. THE
MATHEMATICIAN WHO DISCOVERED THIS LANGUAGE: WE WILL KNOW ABOUT
SOME OF THEM.
1. LEONHARD EULER (1707-1783)
Leonhard Euler Living from 1707 to 1783.
Leonhard Euler Known as the King of mathematicians.
He was a Swiss mathematician, physicist, and engineer.
He introduced the concept of trigonometric functions,
the letter e for the base of the natural logarithm now also known as
Euler's number.
He was one of the most eminent mathematicians of the 18th century.
He also develop calculus, topology, number theory, analysis and
graph theory as well as much.
Ultimately he paved the way for modern mathematics
and all its revelations. It is probably no coincidence that industry
and technological developments rapidly increased around this time.
2. CARL FRIEDRICH GAUSS (1777–1855)
Carl Friedrich Gauss Known as the prince of mathematicians.
He was a German mathematician. He contributed major areas in
mathematics most notably number theory and proved the
fundamental theorem of algebra.
He made significant contributions to several fields including number
theory, algebra, statistics, analysis, differential geometry, geophysics,
mechanics, electrostatics, magnetic fields, matrix theory, and optics.
He made significant contributions to most fields of 19th century
mathematics. His favorite area was number theory, a field which he revolutionized with his work
on complex numbers. He also published many books including ‘Disquisitiones Arithmeticae’
which is regarded as one of the most influential mathematics books ever written.
3. ADA LOVELACE (1815-1852)
Augusta Ada King-Noel later known as Ada Lovelace.
Living from 1815 to 1852. She was an English mathematician,
programmer and writer .
She worked with Charles Babbage on the first programmable
computers in the mid-19th century.
She will be forever remembered as
the world’s first computer programmer.
The next time you download some Music , you may want to
remember Ada cause She developed computer-generated music.
4. ALAN TURING (1912-1954)
Alan Turing a British mathematician who has been call the father of
modern computer science and artificial intelligence. He is a Cryptanalyst
who is acknowledged as one the greatest minds of the 20th Century.
During the World War Two British intelligence agency MI6 recruits Alan to
crack German Nazis codes. he was secretly working in government
crypto-analysis. He created groundbreaking methods for cracking the
German Enigma Encryption.
Alan developed a machine (the Bombe) which helped break the Enigma
that allowing them to read nearly all German Nazi communication.
In that regard, he is one of the founders of modern cryptanalysis.
The Imitation Game is a 2014 American historical drama film based on the biography Alan Turing.
