The document describes the MACMoM master's program in Advanced Catalysis and Molecular Modelling at the University of Girona. Some key details:
- The program was recently approved for the 2013-14 academic year and is organized by the Institute of Computational Chemistry and Catalysis.
- It is a mixed professional and research program awarding 60 ECTS credits over one academic year. Courses will be taught in English at the University of Girona's Faculty of Sciences.
- The curriculum covers fundamentals of catalysis and computational chemistry, integrated labs, scientific communication skills, and challenges in organic synthesis. It aims to provide skills for catalysis research and industry applications.
Master's in Professional Practice is a work-related, flexible, part-time learning programme designed for participants from private, public and third sector settings such as health and social care; education; local government; public services; human resources; administrative services; cultural industries or the arts.
The programme offers you the opportunity to attain academic recognition for the skills, knowledge and experience that you have developed in the workplace. Focusing on a specific area of practice relevant to your work, it builds on your work experience and qualifications to enhance your career progression.
You explore your profession further and consider the professional challenges associated within your specific area of practice, with modules that have been designed to help you review and analyse the current debates relevant to the professional context in which you are working.
What is catalysis, its type and its applicationLovnish Thakur
This document will give you information about catalysis and type of catalysis like homogenious and heterogenious catalysis and its various application .

Formative Milestones
•To provide students with a thorough understanding of catalytic chemistry,
applied in both research and industry.
•The course will provide students with the skills needed to address the
design of new synthesis of products based upon processes catalyzed by
transition metals, integrating the most innovative synthetic routes, and
directing the students towards a more sustainable, efficient and
economical catalytic methodologies. This Master provides also the students
the opportunity to endeavor a more theoretical or computational approach
to the subject.
•The exclusive use of English in this Master allows an understanding of the
terminology surrounding the catalytic chemistry for its use worldwide, a
great help in both research and industry. Also students will be fully
competent in the language both orally and in writing at the end of the
program.
