Muhurat trading is an auspicious practice in Hinduism where stock trading occurs on Diwali for one hour. It is believed that planetary alignment during this period results in fruitful trades that bring wealth and prosperity. The two major stock exchanges in India, NSE and BSE, declare the trading window for Muhurat trading, which usually falls in the last two weeks of October or first two weeks of November. Traders follow traditions like placing a coin on accounting books before performing a prayer to the goddess Laxmi to attain more wealth in the coming year.
