While Math may be enjoyable for a few and a necessary evil for others, it can be dreadful and
unfortunately for the last lot, inevitable regardless of your career path. However, it doesn’t have to
be that way.
10th
grade is a tough year and you have to be on your ‘A’ game if you intend to get into college.
Even if you feel that college is not for you (and we will need to have a chat about that), you still
need a few Math courses to graduate high school. Things are different now from the old days such
that you have to do more Math than perhaps your parents did.
This is not necessarily a bad thing. Math can be and is enjoyable-don’t laugh, I mean it. In my
experience as a 10th
grade Math teacher, and as a human being, I have learnt that anyone can turn
their grades around, even their Math grades, without necessarily having ‘no life’.
Commitment is what ultimately determines success and if you want to attain it badly enough you
can get it. I offer support to students both in class and at a personal level to ensure that whatever
their dreams are, Math doesn’t stand in the way but rather it facilitates them to achieve those
dreams. We will be able to work out a schedule that works around all that you have going on and
you will being to see that Math is doable and maybe even enjoyable once you look at it and yourself
in a more positive light.
