Alexandria, located on the Mediterranean coast in Egypt, has seen many changes since it was founded in 330 BC. At its height, the city rivalled Rome in its wealth and size and was once the seat for the Ptolemaic dynasty. For the last 2000 years, the seas surrounding Alexandria have been witness to numerous key historical events.
