Women constitute of ½ of world’s population and do 2/3 of world’s work.
In return,
Women get 1/10th of world’s income and own 1/100th of world’s wealth.
-The United Nations
Women’s Right to Land has been major concern of the women’s movement in India for over three decades. Globally, women’s land rights are becoming an area of increasing urgency. In most societies, women have historically managed the unpaid care economy and fulfilled the responsibilities of cooking, cleaning, family care, collection of fuel, fodder, water, kitchen gardening, poultry and animal husbandry and provided food and nutritional security. As women’s contribution to the economy and society at large remains unrecognised, largely underpaid and mostly unpaid, the need for women to be able to secure land and property has become even more critical.
Similar to the cross-cutting nature of women’s human rights issues, women’s land rights intersect with other problems such as discriminatory inheritance patterns, disinheritance thro’ wills, agriculture and development issues, use of forest-based resources, gender-based violence, the appropriation and privatization of communal and indigenous lands, as well as gendered control over economic resources and the right to work. The interdependence of women’s human rights highlights the importance of women being able to claim their rights to land, in order to lessen the threat of discrimination, different forms of violence, denial of political participation, and other violations of their economic rights.
This document provides guidance on coping with difficult people. It outlines that (1) managing one's own emotions is key before dealing with difficult individuals, as it allows for clearer thinking. (2) Our emotions are shaped more by our own beliefs and self-talk rather than external events. (3) When upset by others, we have given them permission to disturb us by the beliefs and demands we place on their behavior. The document then provides strategies for coping with difficult people, including acknowledging one's preferences rather than demands, expressing annoyance constructively, and managing one's emotional reaction.

While both countries have gained formal independence, their prime ministers continue to be of British or European ancestry, showing the ongoing influence of colonial powers. An analysis of past prime ministers of both countries found that all had British or European family backgrounds, such as British-born parents or grandparents. This suggests Britain and Europe still maintain rule indirectly by ensuring leadership reflects colonial ethnicities rather than local populations.

Alfred John Anderson and Anna Maria Erickson both immigrated to Utah from Sweden in the late 19th/early 20th century. They met in Park City, UT and married in 1901. Alfred worked as a sheepherder and miner before settling at a smelter in Murray, UT. Anna worked as a housekeeper after immigrating alone on the ship Vancouver in 1900. The couple had 8 children together and were part of a large extended Swedish family that immigrated to Utah around the same time period.
Here are the key steps I would take to try and find Gifford Few and Emily Taylor on the 1881 Census:
1. Search FreeBMD for their marriage registration in 1880 in Haggerston. This would confirm details like parents' names.
2. Search the 1881 Census for Gifford and Emily Few living in the same area of Haggerston or nearby. Focus on households with a head named Gifford aged around 25, and wife Emily around 24, matching their ages from the marriage registration.
3. Check for other details on the 1881 Census matching the registration, like Gifford's occupation as a builder and parents' names/occupations.
4. As a further check, search the 1871 Census to
Queen Victoria was born in 1819 and became Queen of the United Kingdom in 1837 after the deaths of her grandfather and father. She reigned over the Victorian Era and married her cousin Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha in 1840. Their marriage produced 9 children but also introduced the genetic disorder hemophilia into the royal family. Queen Victoria died in 1901 after a 64-year reign, the longest in British history, and was succeeded by her eldest son, King Edward VII.
Martha Peacock (1848-1907) immigrated to Utah from England in 1866. She married John Martin Luce (1836-1907) in 1868 in Salt Lake City. They had 9 children together and lived in the Salt Lake City area. John was born in Maine and his family joined the Mormon church and moved to Nauvoo, Illinois in the 1830s/40s before eventually settling in Utah. Both Martha and John are buried at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.

Astronism, Cosmism and Cosmodeism: the space religions espousing the doctrine...Cometan
This lecture created by Brandon Taylorian (aka Cometan) specially for the CESNUR Conference held Bordeaux in June 2024 provides a brief introduction to the legacy of religious and philosophical thought that Astronism emerges from, namely the discourse on transcension started assuredly by the Cosmists in Russia in the mid-to-late nineteenth century and then carried on and developed by Mordecai Nessyahu in Cosmodeism in the twentieth century. Cometan also then provides some detail on his story in founding Astronism in the early twenty-first century from 2013 along with details on the central Astronist doctrine of transcension. Finally, the lecture concludes with some contributions made by space religions and space philosophy and their influences on various cultural facets in art, literature and film.

Lucid Dreaming: Understanding the Risks and Benefits
The ability to control one's dreams or for the dreamer to be aware that he or she is dreaming. This process, called lucid dreaming, has some potential risks as well as many fascinating benefits. However, many people are hesitant to try it initially for fear of the potential dangers. This article aims to clarify these concerns by exploring both the risks and benefits of lucid dreaming.
The Benefits of Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreaming allows a person to take control of their dream world, helping them overcome their fears and eliminate nightmares. This technique is particularly useful for mental health. By taking control of their dreams, individuals can face challenging scenarios in a controlled environment, which can help reduce anxiety and increase self-confidence.
Addressing Common Concerns
Physical Harm in Dreams Lucid dreaming is fundamentally safe. In a lucid dream, everything is a creation of your mind. Therefore, nothing in the dream can physically harm you. Despite the vividness and realness of the dream experience, it remains entirely within your mental landscape, posing no physical danger.
Mental Health Risks Concerns about developing PTSD or other mental illnesses from lucid dreaming are unfounded. As soon as you wake up, it's clear that the events experienced in the dream were not real. On the contrary, lucid dreaming is often seen as a therapeutic tool for conditions like PTSD, as it allows individuals to reframe and manage their thoughts.
Potential Risks of Lucid Dreaming
While generally safe, lucid dreaming does come with a few risks as well:
Mixing Dream Memories with Reality Long-term lucid dreamers might occasionally confuse dream memories with real ones, creating false memories. This issue is rare and preventable by maintaining a dream journal and avoiding lucid dreaming about real-life people or places too frequently.
Escapism Using lucid dreaming to escape reality can be problematic if it interferes with your daily life. While it is sometimes beneficial to escape and relieve the stress of reality, relying on lucid dreaming for happiness can hinder personal growth and productivity.
Feeling Tired After Lucid Dreaming Some people report feeling tired after lucid dreaming. This tiredness is not due to the dreams themselves but often results from not getting enough sleep or using techniques that disrupt sleep patterns. Taking breaks and ensuring adequate sleep can prevent this.
Mental Exhaustion Lucid dreaming can be mentally taxing if practiced excessively without breaks. It’s important to balance lucid dreaming with regular sleep to avoid mental fatigue.
Lucid dreaming is safe and beneficial if done with caution. It has many benefits, such as overcoming fear and improving mental health, and minimal risks. There are many resources and tutorials available for those interested in trying it.

5. But where was Margaret born?
• All Belfast Church of Ireland records searched by professional
for birth approximately 1827
• All Belfast Church of Ireland records searched in person
• No birth/baptism record ever located
• Conclusion:
The family must have moved into Belfast
from somewhere else.
But from where, and how to determine
this locale?
7. June, 2008 – while researching at Salt Lake City
(the vibes must have been good)
• An email from Oregon, U.S.A.
“Hi. My name is Sally Agnew. I just sent a reply to your Gen Forum posting
regarding John Agnew.
I am married to Robert Agnew who is descended from John
Agnew, (b. 1791, died 20th January, 1843; Belfast, married to Esther,
b. 1796, died 5th March, 1875, Belfast, at the house of her daughter
Margaret who married A. Lockhart on 18th May, 1858), via one of his sons,
(I have a count of 5 sons), Gilmore Agnew, b. 1822, d. 1884 at age 62.
We have a family Bible (Edinburgh, 1836) with information that I know
you'll be interested in. I will wait to hear back from you”.
8. Notice all the matching data?
• Dates and places all matched mine.
• The date of my original message on Gen Forum?
January, 2001
• Any idea how many nanoseconds it took to push the
reply key?
• What did I receive once I contacted Sally?

• More siblings of Margaret Agnew –
• William, born 1819, died 1st
May, 1865, London, England

• John, born 1828, died July 16, 1868, New York
• But – still no reference to Margaret’s birth
12. Next step – (amongst others)
- the U.S. census records
• Torrens Agnew – had died in 1869 in San Jose,
California
• but the 1870 census for San Jose, California
showed that his wife and two children were born
in Australia
• Assumption – Torrens went to Australia before
going to the U.S., and married there
13. How to determine a locale in
Australia?
• Knowing that Australian records are very complete, sent excited
email to our local expert on “Down Under” – Marian Press
• Within minutes received response that World Vital records shows
him in land records in Ballarat, State of Victoria
• Learn that State of Victoria has placed their Civil Registrations on-
line
• Victoria - http://online.justice.vic.gov.au/servlet/bdm_home
• Located and downloaded Agnew marriage, plus 5 births and 2
deaths

Maryborough, are available from 1793
• They are held in the Representative Church
Body Library in Dublin

22. Baptismal font in St. Peter’s Church
of Ireland, Portlaoise, Laois County
23. Conclusion and Next Steps
• Searched surrounding parish records – no sign of first
two sons, nor of marriage of John and Esther, nor of any
other Agnew’s or Fleming’s
• It seems the family was only in Maryborough for a few
years
• So – I now need to go back to earlier Belfast records for
births/baptisms of two eldest sons – William and
Gilmore, and marriage of parents
• OR – Wait for another email !!!!!
