Biography
Marco Polo (1254-1324) was a Venetian merchant
believed to have journeyed across Asia at the height of the Mongol Empire. His father
was Niccolo Polo and his uncle was Maffeo. He lost his mother at a very young age.
He stayed in China with his uncle and father for 17 years.
He started being popular, adventurers, researchers and other explorers followed his
way. He explored a whole continent named Asia both by land and sea

Marco Polo travelled throughout Asia to reach Xanadu , Asia ( now
Beijing). He went by land.
He went to Gobi desert and through Persia, finally to China. Later on he
went to Jerusalem , India , Tibet and Burma. He was sent to missions in
which he explored Xanadu whole. He went throughout Asia once again in
his return journey. But this time by sea.

 Marco Polo went to prison when he was an army.
 Marco Polo was one of the first Europeans to describe
Chinese advanced technology.
 Marco Polo wrote a travelogue.
 Marco Polo wasn’t the first European to travel to Asia.
 Christopher Columbus got inspired by Marco polo’s
travelogue and did a similar travel to the west.
