The document discusses the meaning and significance of having a close encounter with the cross of Jesus Christ. It notes that the cross represents (1) Jesus' great sacrifice to save people from hell, (2) the great power to change people and free them from sin and Satan, and (3) the great cause of sharing in Christ's purpose of saving and changing lives by taking up one's own cross daily. Christians who carry their cross can take part in soul-winning and making new disciples for Christ.

accredited by God to you by
miracles, wonders and signs, which
God did among you through him, as
you yourselves know.
14. Acts 2:23 This man was handed
over to you by God's set purpose
and foreknowledge; and you, with
the help of wicked men, put him to
death by nailing him to the cross.

the dead, freeing him from the
agony of death, because it was
impossible for death to keep its
hold on him.

canceled the written code, with its
regulations, that was against us and
that stood opposed to us; he took it
away, nailing it to the cross. And having
disarmed the powers and authorities, he
made a public spectacle of them,
triumphing over them by the cross.

and follow me.
Luke 14:27 And anyone who does not
carry his cross and follow me cannot be
my disciple.
