INSPECT PERSONAL FALL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT– All equipment used for work at height
must be within a regime of inspection / maintenance as required under the manufacturer’s guidance
andlocallegislation(whereappropriate),andrecordsmaintainedfortheservicelifeoftheequipment.
Pre use and periodic inspections of fall protection equipment will be performed by the user and a
CompetentPersoninaccordancethemanufacturerecommendationsandinstructions.

FROM DROPPED OBJECTS - When work is being performed
above ground, where there is the potential for suspended loads,
tools, equipment, waste or other items to fall and create a risk to
workers or members of the public, an exclusive zone or drop zone
hastobeestablished.

USE SAFETY NETS TO CATCH FALLING OBJECTS OR
PERSONNEL - Safety nets can be used for accidental fall of
people or objects from the site. Safety nets when installed,
must be close as possible under the walking/working surface
onwhichemployeesareworking,andextendbeyondtheedge
oftheworksurface
Safetynetcontrolmeasures:
• Install safety nets with enough clearance under them to
prevent contact with the surface or structures below when
subjectedtoanimpactforceequaltothedroptest
• Inspect safety nets at least once a week, and after any
occurrence which could affect the integrity of the system,
forwear,damage,anddeterioration
• Remove all materials, scrap, equipment, and tools that
have fallen into the net as soon as possible, but at least
beforethenextworkshift

• Ensure personnel do not attach tool lanyards to their bodies or clothing when working near rotating or moving
equipment
