Making Life Meaningful
CHANGES
RE-CHARGE THEME FOR THE MONTH OF JANUARY
INTRODUCTION:
Changes is inevitable in life, we can’t stop it
but we can prepare for it. People who refuse
to refuse to accept and face these change are
the ones having difficulty to see the great
effect of these life transformations that it
brings about.
INTRODUCTION:
The New Year Season are filled with a lot of
opportunities and positive spirits for people
to make and adapt to these life changes.
12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already
arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which
Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not
consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do:
Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is
press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has
called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
15 All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of
things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God
will make clear to you. 16 Only let us live up to what
we have already attained.
Philippians 3:12-16 (New International Version)
OUTLINE: I. RESPONSIBLE DECISIONS
12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my
goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold
of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken
hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining
toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for
which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
15 All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And
if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to
you. 16 Only let us live up to what we have already attained.
HOW TO MAKE RESPONSIBLE DECISIONS?
Pray for wisdom from God
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who
gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be
given to you” (James 1:5).
Search the scriptures of God
“The precepts of the Lord are right, giving
joy to the heart. The commands of the
Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes”
(Psalm 19:8).
HOW TO MAKE RESPONSIBLE DECISIONS?
Be still before God
“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do
not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they
carry out their wicked schemes” (Psalm 37:7).
Seek counsel from godly people
“Walk with the wise and become
wise, for a companion of fools
suffers harm” (Proverbs 13:20).
HOW TO MAKE RESPONSIBLE DECISIONS?
Have faith and trust in God
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on
your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
OUTLINE: II. RESPONSIVE ACTIONS
12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have
already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take
hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of
me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet
to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting
what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I
press on toward the goal to win the prize for which
God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
“Now that you know these things, you will be
blessed if you do them.” (John 13:17)
“But the one who looks into the perfect law, the
law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer
who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be
blessed in his doing.” (James 1:23-25)
“But be doers of the Word, and not hearers
only, deceiving yourselves.” (James 1:22)
“Everyone then who hears these words of mine
and does them will be like a wise man who built
his house on the rock.” (Matthew 7:24)
“Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and
being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the
grace that will be brought to you at the
revelation of Jesus Christ.” (I Peter 1:13)
OUTLINE: III. RELEVANT CHANGES
12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my
goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of
me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold
of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward
what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God
has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
15 All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if
on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to
you. 16 Only let us live up to what we have already attained.
Ephesians 4:23
And to be renewed in the spirit of your minds
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit
within you, whom you have from God?You are not your own, for
you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
James 1:12
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial,
for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown
of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
