4. The D-League was a product of former NBA commissioner
David Stern who sought to create a program that nurtured
and shaped players for the league. Since then the league has
become a vision of growth for current commissioner Adam
Silver. With the growth trend over the past 14 seasons talks
of the league expanding to a 30-team league to mirror the
NBA are becoming reality. Though this may be a timely
process, talks are in place of formatting the D-League in
conjunction with the NBA.
