NBA Merchandise accounts
for over a billion dollars
annually
Current Merchandise Partners
NBA Merchandise is a big deal. It allows fans
to express themselves and represent their
favorite teams and players. It’s also a big part
of our business. Not only do we make
revenue from current gear, but also our
“throwback” gear. NBA teams such as the
Magic, Jazz, and Raptors have iconic logos,
and fans are interested in purchasing products
with those logos.

7. Total Primetime Viewers During NBA Season
It’s no secret that cable subscriptions have been
declining in recent years. The NBA is looking into
expanding its content into streaming services. With
the NBA’s current media deal ending in 2025, it’s a
good time to investigate benefits and drawbacks
regarding these streaming services.
Potential New Streaming Partners:
Forbes: The way people access video
streaming, such as through video streaming
apps rose with revenue surpassing $72
billion in 2021.
8. Map of the World
NBA Commissioner:
NBA Expansion to
Mexico City “possible”.
Adds “There's no doubt we will be
looking seriously at Mexico City
over time.”
The NBA has 29 teams in the US,
and one in Canada. Although the
NBA mostly caters to North
America, over 90% of the
population of the world lives
outside of the US and Canada,
and that’s a lot of possible
revenue the NBA is missing out
on. The NBA has played games in
numerous countries and has
players in over 100 different
countries. Catering to the
international audience more
could net the NBA billions of
dollars, as well as millions of
more people watching.
ESPN:
The NBA has long strived
to grow the game outside
North America. It has
hosted over 200 events in
more than 20 countries.
