Magnesite carbon bricks are designed for use in electric furnaces, converters, and ladles based on working conditions. They are made from high purity fused magnesia, graphite, and phenolic resin as a binder. The bricks are used to line electric furnaces and converters because they have high strength, slag resistance, thermal stability, and refractoriness for contacting molten steel and slag. Different grades of the bricks should be selected for furnace, converter, and ladle parts based on melting conditions.
