The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

• “About the Darfur Dream Team.” Darfur Dream Team - Sisters Schools Program. Enough, 2010. Web. 25 Oct. 2010. <http://www.darfurdreamteam.org/>. The website of Darfur Dream Team provides information about a relief
effort to help refugees from Darfur. This organization helps refugees by providing them with education. I evaluated this source by finding pages that link to this page. I discovered that other legitimate organizations that are
centered towards helping refugees link to this page. Additionally, I investigated the organization Enough that is in partnership with the Darfur Dream Team organization. Through my research, I found that Enough is a real and
ongoing project that is focused on ending genocide and other crimes. This information informed me of another organization that is trying to resolve the conflicts in Sudan. I now know that there is an organization focused on helping
the victims of the conflicts in Sudan.
• Buckley, Stephen. “Loss of Culturally Vital Cattle Leaves Dinka Tribe Adrift in Refugee Camps.” Washington Post. N.p., n.d. Web. 27 Oct. 2010. <http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-
srv/inatl/longterm/africanlives/sudan/sudan.htm>. The key information of this source describes the changes in the culture of the Dinka people. To evaluate this information, I compared it to the information I read in the book God
Grew Tired of Us. I also compared it to outside online sources. This information helped me to answer the research question because it informed me about the affects of the civil war on the culture of the Dinka people. Also, it
allowed me to gain further knowledge and facts about impact on the culture than the book provided.
• Dau, John Bul. God Grew Tired of Us. Washington, DC: National Geographic Society, 2007. Print. This book is specifically a memoir because it covers the troublesome life of a Lost Boy of Sudan, written by himself, John Bul Dau. It
basically tells the life story of a boy who was caught in the middle of the Sudanese civil war, and what happens as his life progresses and is introduced to the United States of America. I evaluated by researching the story of John Bul
Dau, and not only is it obviously a true account, but a personal movie was made starring him and his life progressed. I can easily trust this memoir to give me the truthful facts. This book definitely enhanced my topic because not
only is my group basing our project from this memoir, but this is a first person account of a survivor who has witnessed this civil war, and reading about his adventures has put me in his shoes during his time in Africa.
• Deng, Simon. “Genocide in the First Person: An Interview with Simon Deng.” Interview by Jonathan Gelbart. Pachodo.org. N.p., 8 Apr. 2008. Web. 27 Oct. 2010. <http://www.pachodo.org/20080408587/Pachodo.org-English-
Articles/genocide-in-the-first-person-an-interview-with-simon-deng.html>. This source is strictly an interview, to gain information from a native Sudanese man, Simon Deng. The interviewer asked specific questions that directly to
the central problem of Sudan’s civil war, especially with genocide. As this was a simple website, I searched the company that posted all of this Sudan information, and they are actually a well known group that is commonly used in
Sudan. Additionally, I searched key sentences that could have been easily copyrighted from another source, and nothing suspicious appeared. By obtaining this source, I gained first-person information other than from my original
memoir, John Bul Dau, that gave me different information that benefitted me in the same way. I gained more specific information from this source, and it helped me understand concepts, like the religious controversies, that I
would not have gotten from any other source.
• “Fact Sheet: United States Leading the Global Response to Crisis in Darfur.” SIRS Government Reporter. N.p., 19 Feb. 2008. Web. 26 Oct. 2010. <http://sks.sirs.com/bin/article-display?id=SSCHE-0-

describes the efforts that the United States has made towards ending the conflicts in Sudan. To evaluate this source, I checked to see that all of the sites that link to this page are authentic. When I checked, I discovered that many
educational and governmental sites link to this page. Part of my research question is how the issues in Sudan can be resolved. This source shows that the United States is a major contributor to the resolution of the conflicts in
Sudan. Additionally, this source describes what actions have been taken by the United States to resolve the conflicts in Sudan.
• Inbar, Michael. “George Clooney: We Can Stop Civil War in Sudan.” Today Show. Msnbc, 2010. Web. 25 Oct. 2010. <http://today.msnbc.msn.com////today-today_people>. This article from Msnbc is written by Michael Inbar. Inbar
describes George Clooney, an actor, and his involvement in the resolution of civil war in Sudan. To make sure that this article is a good source of information, I evaluated the author of the article. When I researched about Michael
Inbar, I discovered that Inbar has written numerous articles for Msnbc with prestigious news reporters, such as Meredith Vieira. This source provided me with more information on what actions individuals are making to do help
resolve the conflicts in Sudan. This source also gave me another insight on the current conflicts in Sudan.
• Segell, Glen. “The United Nations Africa Union Mission in Darfur.” Strategic Insights VII.1: n. pag. Web. 25 Oct. 2010. <http://www.nps.edu////////segellFeb08.html>. This article is about what an organization called UNAMID is
doing to help Sudan. I evaluated this source by checking the credentials of the author. I discovered that the author works with the London Security Policy Study. The information in this article enhances my knowledge of one of the
largest organizations that is involved in the conflicts of Sudan. I now know more about what actions UNAMID is taking to help Sudan.

n=1.0>. Some key information that I learned was that Sudan circles around its agriculture. Agriculture is very important to the economy of Sudan. I could not find the authors name so I researched the information on other websites.
Every website I evaluated said that Sudan’s economy really relies on its agriculture. This information helped me understand how much this country relies on agriculture. If there were something that was to happen to the
agriculture, the people of Sudan would have a hard time surviving.
• “This UN Force Won’t End the Tragedy of Darfur.” Editorial. Independent 12 Dec. 2007: 28. Global Issues in Context. Web. 25 Oct. 2010. <http://find.galegroup.com//infomark.do?&contentSet=IAC-

while they were in Sudan trying to help. By checking out the actual source of this article, a newspaper, I evaluated the article. I found out that the newspaper is a real and prominent newspaper. This article adds to my information
on the UN and their actions to try to resolve the conflicts in Sudan. Through this article, I have another viewpoint on how successful the UN is in Sudan.

of women as the Sudanese civil war and genocide issue progress. To evaluate this information, I did as I normally do and confirmed it with outside sources. I used many of my Information Literacy Module skills. The information
found on this webpage improved my knowledge on the mistreatment of women. It allowed me to see what the women are facing during their struggle with genocide This image is used under a CC license from
