The presentation discusses anthropological issues in the context of afforded by Latin American immigrants in the Japanese Health Care System. Background: 1985 immigration visa for Japanese descendants from South America initiated the process of the “ethnicity-based immigration”( Takenaka,2003 ) 14% of the total amount of foreigners in Japan. This research was presented during the II Workshop on Medical Athropology in Rome, on October 14th - 15th 2011.

No profession can get alone the right perspective to comprehend the destructiveness of violence, we need different points of view to fight against it and hopefully to transfer this knowledge to the policy making body. It is my hope that our policy makers and society will begin to realize the importance of the anthropological aspects which I am going to discuss in this short paper.
Now, I would like to take this opportunity to share the role of Anthropology in this issue with policy makers and anthropologists but, let me first show about the role of anthropology in the process of development and its connection with violence. I believe that the anthropological theory should apply to the practical field. Another word, I would say that anthropologists must put on two hats (theoretical and practical).

Lack of a family medicine system in Kurdistan Region: Challenges and solutions
Background: Family medicine can play a significant role in monitoring, enhancing, and maintaining public health in the community. This field is still in its initial stage in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq; therefore, it is faced with several challenges. The present study was carried out in order to figure out the challenges and solutions to them in family medicine in Erbil, the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Methods: The present descriptive qualitative study was carried out in Erbil from September to December 2019 on 16 individuals who worked in Kurdistan parliament, ministry of health, general directorate, health sector, and private and public hospitals. Semi-structured in-depth interviews were carried out in order to gather data on their lived experience. The collected data were analyzed through van Manen’s method, and relevant themes and subthemes were extracted. Results: Data analysis led to emergence of three main themes of “past status of family medicine”, “present status of family medicine”, and “future status of family medicine”. The first main theme had two subtheme, namely “lack of family medicine” and “primary health care centers”. The second main theme also had two subthemes, namely “the beginning stage” and “family medicine centers”. The third main theme also had two subthemes, namely “family medicine objectives” and “strategy planning measures”. Conclusion: Family medicine in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq is still in its early stage; therefore, there are several challenges and issues which can be resolved as a result of cooperation between the Ministry of Health, universities of medicine in the region, and the parliament of Kurdistan.

ABSTRACT : The study took a look at the health care delivery system in Nigeria with particular interest in the health centers in the communities of Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State. A total of 155 respondents were used for this study. The multi-stage sampling technique was used to select the respondent while the data was collected through the use of questionnaires oral interview. Upon analysis some findings were made which include that the dividends of democracy is not quite evident in the rural areas as the level of physical development in the rural areas does not encourage the medical practitioners to stay in these places, the study further noted that equipping the health centers in the rural areas will not solve the above problem rather a corresponding social infrastructural development of the areas will be of more help.

In beginning the interview, a consideration to remember is that eye contact is considered rude to Hmong People and that tone of voice and body language are very important; taking too loudly, placing too much emphasis on words, or talking excessively with hands and arm movements can result in noncompliance (Carteret, 2012). As this patient is young and assumed to be mainstream with Western culture, she will likely be understanding and forgiving of eye contact, tone, and body language but interactions with older family members will require care.
Gender of the nurse might play a role in some assessments, it is important to ask if a male nurse has permission to touch the abdomen or auscultate the lungs, heart, or abdomen. Questions pertaining to sex should be private and held with a nurse who is the same gender as the patient, it is of note that questions or examinations regarding sexual health can be misinterpreted as judgment of promiscuity, resulting in refusal, so sex must be addressed with much explanation and rationale without judgment (Carteret, 2012). As infection can be related to sex or sexual contact, this should be addressed with this patient.
The patient’s language preference for the interview is also important. The patient is a young adult and in college, however, her preference might be Hmong, or the language typically spoken at home. Another consideration is, does the patient want anyone else present for her interview/assessment? Hmong People have a family structure that is patriarchal, meaning, the father generally very involved in decision making and can, ultimately have the final say on a topic or treatment; the mother is caregiver and may wish to be present to help take care of the patient. Hmong Elders also play a large role in decision making, with a Grandfather that might want to talk directly with the doctor and make decisions over the wishes of the patient or patient’s father (Carteret, 2012).
Hmong Culture has roots in animism, which is the belief that objects, places, animals, people, etc. all have spirits and bodies that maintain a natural balance (Duffy, J., Harmon, R., Ranard, D.A., Thao, B., & Yang, K. (2004). The fever in this patient could be related to an imbalance in her spirit, an inhabitation by another sprit that is making her ill, disapproval of recent behavior by dead ancestors, or a curse (Carteret, 2012). The family might elect to have a religious healer, or Shaman visit to perform holistic medicine on the patient, some of this medicine might cause burns or pinch marks with coining or skin pinching being common practices for illness (Khuu, Yee, & Zhou, 2017). An understanding of Western medicine might not be present, the patient or family may ask for dosages of antibiotics for infection or acetaminophen of fever to be increase or decrease based on how they feel; it is important to explain that medications are dosed on scientifi.

One of the issues that has affected my understanding about aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is life expectancy status. In module one, aboriginal and Torres strait islander health, there is an problem raised by professor David from which I came to know that there is 10-12 years gap in life expectancy between indigenous people and non-indigenous people. According to Australian Bureau of Statistics, 2009 cited in Rosentock (2013) mentions that a non-aboriginal people who is born in Australia would live 10-13 year longer than an aboriginal people where life expectancy gaps of male is 12.4 years and female is 13.1 years . Moreover, social detrimental factor such as poverty, racism, educational and occupation status impact on individual where Aboriginal people engage in health risk behavior such as suicide, circulatory disease and cancer thereby, leading the causes of death (Australian government, 2014). There is health disparities between indigenous and non-indigenous people. However, this gap in life expectancy have brought some positive changes in indigenous health status such as slightly difference in mortality rate. Moreover, after attending my aboriginal classes and going through reading about aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander life expectancy and poor health status motivated me to research more about them.
As an international student, tutorial reading was my first exposure to aboriginal and Torres Strait islander health situation and life expectancy. A similar situation exist in my back home country Nepal. Moreover, there is life expectancy and health status gap between village people and city people. Ho.

Cultural competence is a critical skill needed among healthcare practitioners. The patient in the case is John from Congo. The Democratic Republic of Congo is a country in Africa endowed with various resources and recurring epidemics such as Ebola. The culture is highly tied to strong family structures. Language differences from cultural differences negatively impact health literacy. Therefore, it is incumbent upon health care professions to deliver health care information that the patient can easily comprehend.
Often, patient education materials are written in advanced reading levels that non-native English speakers may find it difficult to comprehend. One of the strategies is the use of visual aids. Not only do visual aids promote active interaction, but visual aids also aid in visual learners. The health care practitioners can point to some of the body parts that are complex to understand. The effect of the disease can also be explained from visual charts, videos, or models. A simulation in necessary instances is also essential. For patients speaking English as a second language, the health care professions can speak slowly and use simple sentences.

In order to care for a patient and effectively educated them on their treatment, the healthcare professional needs to have an understanding of their culture, beliefs and attitudes of that individual. Lack of understanding of the cultural differences or ignoring a patients beliefs, values or attitudes can impede the learning process, which can result in nonadherence of the treatment. Although all cultures possess different styles of beliefs, views or practices, it is important not to stereotype, since everyone develops their own style of practices(Falvo, 2011).
Providing care to a patient that is a Muslim and of Islamic faith the healthcare professional should understanding that their faith can influence decision-making, health practices and family dynamics. Some important differences of a Muslim could be their diet, ideas of modesty, privacy and touch restrictions. During the interview the healthcare provider should determine if they have a good understanding of English. Do they need a translator phone, or would they prefer having a family member translate. It would be important to know th.
Regional Health Systems and non-conventional medicine: the situation in Italy
In Italy the different regional healthcare models
are structured, in order to provide both a single theoretical
framework and to enable direct comparisons. In this paper
we examine whether and how the regional healthcare
systems include alternative medicines and, if so, whether
this can be specifically attributed to the different organisational
models in place. This analysis will be preceded by a
framework to show how in Italy there is a constant and
continuous increase in non-conventional medicine (NCM),
determined from a research by citizens of a person-centred
medicine and preventive. We shall examine how NCM has

This essay-review by a physician-philosopher addresses the origins of the debate over immunity in the coronavirus crisis by examining the terms immunity and community in law and politics through the innovative trilogy of philosopher Roberto Esposito, how they are used in medicine today, and how they can be deployed to construct an affirmative biopolitics, avoiding a narrow medical scientism on one hand and authoritarian political power on the other. With its origin in the obligations of office and the gratitude of the gift, we must preserve the protection of immunity against the predations of impunity.

Integration of homeopathy and complementary medicine in the public health sys...
Complementary medicine (CM) is being
increasingly used by citizens across Europe as a means to
maintain their health and to treat illness and disease. In
Italy the reform of Title V of the Italian Constitution allows
each Region to decide how to put into practice and organize
the Public Healthcare System. The agreement among
the Italian National Government, the Regions, and the
Provinces of Trento and Bolzano on the terms and
requirements for the quality certification of training and
practice of acupuncture, herbal medicine, and homeopathy
by medical doctors and dentists, signed on February 2013,
sets up rules for education and training in acupuncture,
herbal medicine, homeopathy, homotoxicology, and anthroposophic
medicine. Some regions, including Tuscany,
have decided to include Complementary Medicine in their
Essential Levels of Assistance, by creating some structures
that integrate the health services into the public structures.
The Homeopathic Clinic in Lucca, funded by the Tuscany
Region, was established in 1998 as part of a pilot project
aimed at assessing the feasibility of integrating complementary
medicine into the public health care system. To
date, over 4,000 patients have been consecutively visited at
the Homeopathic Clinic in Lucca. Concomitantly, research
into homeopathy effectiveness has been conducted on the
whole sample and on specific groups of children, women or
patients’ parents as well. Studies were also performed on
symptom reduction or resolution of atopic diseases,
respiratory diseases, side effects of anticancer therapies in
women. Other researches concerned cost/effectiveness of
therapies, sociodemographic characteristics and compliance
of patients, and risk management. The results demonstrate
that homeopathy can effectively integrate or, in
some cases, substitute allopathic medicine and that the
Tuscan example can be useful to the development of
national or European rules on CM utilization.

One of the issues that has affected my understanding about aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is life expectancy status. In module one, aboriginal and Torres strait islander health, there is an problem raised by professor David from which I came to know that there is 10-12 years gap in life expectancy between indigenous people and non-indigenous people. According to Australian Bureau of Statistics, 2009 cited in Rosentock (2013) mentions that a non-aboriginal people who is born in Australia would live 10-13 year longer than an aboriginal people where life expectancy gaps of male is 12.4 years and female is 13.1 years . Moreover, social detrimental factor such as poverty, racism, educational and occupation status impact on individual where Aboriginal people engage in health risk behavior such as suicide, circulatory disease and cancer thereby, leading the causes of death (Australian government, 2014). There is health disparities between indigenous and non-indigenous people. However, this gap in life expectancy have brought some positive changes in indigenous health status such as slightly difference in mortality rate. Moreover, after attending my aboriginal classes and going through reading about aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander life expectancy and poor health status motivated me to research more about them.
As an international student, tutorial reading was my first exposure to aboriginal and Torres Strait islander health situation and life expectancy. A similar situation exist in my back home country Nepal. Moreover, there is life expectancy and health status gap between village people and city people. Ho.

Cultural competence is a critical skill needed among healthcare practitioners. The patient in the case is John from Congo. The Democratic Republic of Congo is a country in Africa endowed with various resources and recurring epidemics such as Ebola. The culture is highly tied to strong family structures. Language differences from cultural differences negatively impact health literacy. Therefore, it is incumbent upon health care professions to deliver health care information that the patient can easily comprehend.
Often, patient education materials are written in advanced reading levels that non-native English speakers may find it difficult to comprehend. One of the strategies is the use of visual aids. Not only do visual aids promote active interaction, but visual aids also aid in visual learners. The health care practitioners can point to some of the body parts that are complex to understand. The effect of the disease can also be explained from visual charts, videos, or models. A simulation in necessary instances is also essential. For patients speaking English as a second language, the health care professions can speak slowly and use simple sentences.

In order to care for a patient and effectively educated them on their treatment, the healthcare professional needs to have an understanding of their culture, beliefs and attitudes of that individual. Lack of understanding of the cultural differences or ignoring a patients beliefs, values or attitudes can impede the learning process, which can result in nonadherence of the treatment. Although all cultures possess different styles of beliefs, views or practices, it is important not to stereotype, since everyone develops their own style of practices(Falvo, 2011).
Providing care to a patient that is a Muslim and of Islamic faith the healthcare professional should understanding that their faith can influence decision-making, health practices and family dynamics. Some important differences of a Muslim could be their diet, ideas of modesty, privacy and touch restrictions. During the interview the healthcare provider should determine if they have a good understanding of English. Do they need a translator phone, or would they prefer having a family member translate. It would be important to know th.
Regional Health Systems and non-conventional medicine: the situation in Italy
In Italy the different regional healthcare models
are structured, in order to provide both a single theoretical
framework and to enable direct comparisons. In this paper
we examine whether and how the regional healthcare
systems include alternative medicines and, if so, whether
this can be specifically attributed to the different organisational
models in place. This analysis will be preceded by a
framework to show how in Italy there is a constant and
continuous increase in non-conventional medicine (NCM),
determined from a research by citizens of a person-centred
medicine and preventive. We shall examine how NCM has
been incorporated in the National Health System (SSN) in
Italy, from the time the Regional Health Systems were set
up, and the factors that have contributed to their inclusion
or exclusion. After a brief synopsis of the process of
growth, distribution and recognition of NCM in Italy, we
shall describe how it has been incorporated and consolidated
in the regional healthcare systems.

Abstract
This essay-review by a physician-philosopher addresses the origins of the debate over immunity in the coronavirus crisis by examining the terms immunity and community in law and politics through the innovative trilogy of philosopher Roberto Esposito, how they are used in medicine today, and how they can be deployed to construct an affirmative biopolitics, avoiding a narrow medical scientism on one hand and authoritarian political power on the other. With its origin in the obligations of office and the gratitude of the gift, we must preserve the protection of immunity against the predations of impunity.

Complementary medicine (CM) is being
increasingly used by citizens across Europe as a means to
maintain their health and to treat illness and disease. In
Italy the reform of Title V of the Italian Constitution allows
each Region to decide how to put into practice and organize
the Public Healthcare System. The agreement among
the Italian National Government, the Regions, and the
Provinces of Trento and Bolzano on the terms and
requirements for the quality certification of training and
practice of acupuncture, herbal medicine, and homeopathy
by medical doctors and dentists, signed on February 2013,
sets up rules for education and training in acupuncture,
herbal medicine, homeopathy, homotoxicology, and anthroposophic
medicine. Some regions, including Tuscany,
have decided to include Complementary Medicine in their
Essential Levels of Assistance, by creating some structures
that integrate the health services into the public structures.
The Homeopathic Clinic in Lucca, funded by the Tuscany
Region, was established in 1998 as part of a pilot project
aimed at assessing the feasibility of integrating complementary
medicine into the public health care system. To
date, over 4,000 patients have been consecutively visited at
the Homeopathic Clinic in Lucca. Concomitantly, research
into homeopathy effectiveness has been conducted on the
whole sample and on specific groups of children, women or
patients’ parents as well. Studies were also performed on
symptom reduction or resolution of atopic diseases,
respiratory diseases, side effects of anticancer therapies in
women. Other researches concerned cost/effectiveness of
therapies, sociodemographic characteristics and compliance
of patients, and risk management. The results demonstrate
that homeopathy can effectively integrate or, in
some cases, substitute allopathic medicine and that the
Tuscan example can be useful to the development of
national or European rules on CM utilization.
