2. My Beautiful Family
My family consists of my two older brothers, George and Dazmon, my mom
Erma, my father George Sr., my two sisters India and Ramona, my niece and
nephew Zoe and Immanuel, and myself. I’m the youngest of the family and I
am 17 years old. My siblings have all completed college and have started
their families in Wisconsin and Fayetteville.

My three main hobbies or interests include: reading, writing, and basketball. I enjoy
engaging in all these activities. My favorite genres of books are science-fiction and
mystery. I love JK Rowling’s writing style and her Harry Potter series. As a writer, I write
poems about nature, spoken word about controversial issues and I’m going to officially
begin writing a book in the summer. Thomas Paine and Edgar Allen Poe are two of my
favorite writers of all time. I’ve loved basketball ever since I was able to comprehend
the game. I love NCAA basketball and NBA. Syracuse has been my NCAA team ever
since 2011 and I’ve been a fan of Oklahoma City Thunder for about six years now.
4. The two genres of music I enjoy the most are EDM (Electronic Dance Music) and Contemporary Christian
Music. My favorite EDM artists are Zedd and Aviccii. Their music is fun, creative, and uplifting. I
especially love Zedd’s song Clarity, because it brings such joy to me and urges me to dance. On the
other hand, I love Contemporary Christian Music because it brings peace and a sense of ease in my
spirit. Hillsong United is a youthful group and I admire their dedication to God at such a young age. I
can see they are true Christians and their songs speak to me. My favorite songs from Hillsong are
Oceans and This I Believe.

5. I’m currently attending Roanoke Valley Early College as a Junior.
I’ve been here since my freshman year. The environment is
different because we interact with college students as well as our
fellow peers. RVEC offers great experience for a feel of the college
life. We can experience the feeling of exploring the campus,
difficulty of college classes, organizations and types of instructors.
MY CURRENT EDUCATION
6. After graduating from RVEC, I plan to attend Wake Forest University
and major in Communications. The reason for this is because I want
to further my skills of public speaking and connections with society.
Wake Forest has a great program for Communications and I believe I
will be more successful there.

7. Once I earn my B.A. degree at Wake Forest University, I plan
to attend Syracuse University and gain a M.A. in
Communications and Rhetorical Studies. Here, I want to
further my education in communication and writing skills. By
gaining a M.A., I will be fully qualified for the career I
pursue.
PLANS FOR FURTHERING MY EDUCATION
8. My goal is to pursue a successful career as an ESPN analyst. I have a
passion and immense love for writing and basketball. I also enjoy
debating on sports topics and I love sports overall. As an ESPN
analyst, I could interview athletes that I admire and express my
perspectives on sports. I plan on writing for the newspaper when I
attend Wake Forest and Syracuse.
MY FUTURE CAREER
9. Kevin Durant is my favorite athlete and I truly admire
him. He is an intelligent, generous and courageous
young man. One of the characteristics I truly admire
is his humility. Kevin is humble about every positive
event that occurs in his life. He always gives credit to
God first. In his MVP speech he didn’t give credit to
himself and his abilities, but to his mother. He mainly
gave her the MVP award, saying “You are the Real
MVP.” Kevin has always been second to LeBron, yet
he continues to strive to become an even better
player and not conform to being the second best. I
respect Kevin so much and I am proud of his maturity
over the years.
