Re: Simon Harby Business Consultant Allergan
I would like to express by sincere thanks to Simon for all he has done in supporting Spire
Dunedin Hospital through a highly unusual and challenging commercial period.
The hospital faces extreme competition pressure due to a competitor opening a brand new
hospital facility within a ten minute drive. The net result of this is a potential loss of almost
40% of total revenue.
Simon was engaged to facilitate the senior management team in developing a short and longterm
strategic plan to identify key growth areas and to develop a plan for implementation.
Simon has been an excellent support and has identified key areas for growth and development,
a large project being the development of cosmetics. Simon has developed a plan,
working closely and collaboratively with the SMT and key heads of department. He has robustly
assessed the local market and developed excellent plans demonstrating his knowledge of
the key issues which influence growth both locally and nationally.
Simon has excellent attention to detail and has the ability to fully engage with staff at all
levels and build Consultant confidence.
I have been extremely impressed with Simons tenacity to see through every last detail in each
project. He has impressive networks and uses these to drive through on projects. Simon has
an incredibly strong work ethic and is a completer, finisher as well as a creative ideas person.
His great strength is his ability to draw upon previous experience and apply, in local context,
the benefits and successes of previous projects.
I have no doubt that the strategic planning at Dunedin would have been more challenging without
Simons input.
