 Over 400 hours experience in a laboratory environment (biological, chemical and forensic
science)
 Extracted DNA from various samples using Chelex, Qiagen, phenol and salt extraction
methods
 Recognize the importance of health and safety, including the importance of personal
protection equipment
 Familiar with different chromatography and spectroscopy techniques, including: anion
exchange chromatography, gas and liquid chromatography, mass spectroscopy, ultra-
violet, visible and infra-red spectroscopy.
 Skilled in crime scene processing and documentation: processed mock case samples as
well as participated in a mock court
 Certified in blood stain analysis, after completing a 70hr course
Interpersonal Skills
 Tutored 19 children, between the ages of 6-14 with learning disabilities, in math or
English
 Taught children 7-12 in sewing and assisted them with their sewing projects
 Helped organized a Relay for Life team of 10-50 people, for seven consecutive years
 Able to adapt to a changing environment, whether it be new co-worker or new locations
 Strong ability to empathize with others and relate to their experiences
 Calm when faced with unexpected events that are out of one’s control

Other Skills
 Installed and updated five laptops with all required software that was to be used by the
tutors in their tutoring sessions
 Demonstrated initiative, imagination and ingenuity to come up with new ideas to help
solve problems
 Designed a two mouth schedule and the resulting spreadsheet was used to documented
the attendance and payment for over 40 students who were tutored over one summer
