INFORMATION LETTER
We invite universities students from all over the world, who are interested in
neuropsychology and modern neuroscience, to join our course at Summer International
Neuropsychological School in memory of A. R. Luria. The training will take place from
August 8 to 15 at the Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia
B. N. Yeltsin.
Neuroscience is a rapidly developing area of interdisciplinary knowledge.
Therefore, in 2016 a master program in English called "Cognitive Neuroscience" was
opened in Ekaterinburg, for postgraduates including those who do not speak Russian.
This educational program is provided with logistical and intellectual resources that
allows the Ural Federal University to ensure a high level of education in Neuroscience.
Summer International Neuropsychological School is a great opportunity to dive
into the neuropsychological scientific world. The School scientific director is professor
Janna Glozman, Doctor in Psychology, leading researcher of the Laboratory of
Neuropsychology at Lomonosov Moscow State University (Moscow, Russia). Janna
Glozman has been the President of the 5th
International Luria Memorial Congress
«Lurian Approach in International Psychological Science» (https://luria-
congress.urfu.ru/en/gallery/) that took place from October 13 to 16, 2017, at Ural
Federal University and gathered more than 400 scientists known in the field of
neuroscience from Russia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Brazil, Great
Britain, Hungary, Germany, Greece, Israel, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, Canada,
Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, El Salvador, Slovenia, the USA, France,
Sweden, South Africa.
The International School is one of the activities contributing to the development
of neuropsychology and other neurosciences in Russia and abroad.
The School will take place at the Laboratory of brain and neurocognitive
development, the Laboratory of Neurotechnology and the Department of psychology of
the Ural Federal University.

2. THE INVITED LECTURES OF THE SCHOOL
Janna M. Glozman, having been Luria's student, now she is an expert in
developmental neuropsychology and neuropsychology of
communication. J.M. Glozman is a leading researcher of the
Laboratory of Neuropsychology at Lomonosov Moscow State
University and the Scientific Director of the Research Center of
Developmental Neuropsychology named after A.R. Luria. Prof. Glozman
is an author of such books as «Developmental Neuropsychology»,
«Communication Disorders and Personality» among other 40 books,
published in Russian, English and Portuguese.
Jordi Peña-Casanova – professor of the Autonomus University of
Barcelona, Director of the Master's Degree in Neuropsychology and
Neurology of Behavior at the Autonomous University of Barcelona,
Director of the Department of Behavior and Dementia in the Neurology
Service of Hospital del Mar. Barcelona, Coordinator of the
Neurofunctionality and Language Group of the Neurosciences program
of the Mar Institute of Medical Research (IMIM).
Bella Kotik-Friedgut – professor of the Department of Special
Education of David Yellin Academic College of Education (Israel). Dr.
Kotik teaches courses on Brain and Learning, based upon cultural-
historical theories of Lev Vygotsky and A.R. Luria, as well as on
bilingualism and the psychological aspects of new language acquisition.
Among her famous publications are: "Human interhemispheric
cooperation" and «How to Learn Languages Succesfully» (both in
Russian).
Sergey Yu. Kiselev – PhD, a specialist in Developmental
Neuropsychology, the Head of the Laboratory of human brain and
neurocognitive development (Ekaterinburg, Russia). Research interests:
neurocognitive development of children with autistic spectrum disorders
and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in comparison with typically
developing children. Sergey Kiselev is the scientific leader of the
master's program "Cognitive Neuroscience".
Gergely Csibra – professor of the Department of Cognitive Science,
director of Cognitive Development Center (Central European University,
Budapest, Hungary). His research focuses on various aspects of
cognitive development of infants.

3. TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF TRAINING
The dates of the School: August 8 – 15, 2018.
Venue: Russia, Ekaterinburg (Lenina Ave., 51).
Conditions: the training is free of charge; accommodation in hotel (3-4 students),
lunch, teaching materials are payed by the host party. Travel fee are payed by the
sending party (or at the expense of the student).
Application dates: May 15 – 15 July, 2018.
The number of places at the School is limited (up to 25).
Working language: English.
The School audience: students of the last years of studies (3-5 years) being trained in
the psychological and natural-science bachelor program (3-4 years of study) and
specialist's program (4-5 years of study) in Russia and abroad.
Forms of work: lectures, seminars, practical classes, project workshops. The program
will be announced by the 1st of June 2018.
The participants will receive a certificate of education at School
Participants and teachers are assumed to be involved in a cultural program.
