Editor's Notes

  • #2 We are created in the image of God. If we understand the image of God as a “unity with diversity”, we can understand that humanity best represents God when we are a “unity with diversity”. Thus the inter-personal relationships we have with one another enable us to appropriately exist as image bearers of God. God said after creating man, “It is not good for man to be alone”. By himself, Adam was not a good representation of God. Only in relationship could he be the image bearer he was created to be. Adam and Eve’s initial relationship was characterized by deep and unbroken intimacy, a perfect willingness to not only love each other, but to be loved without a façade of any kind. “Naked and not ashamed”.
