13. He loves us forever. Jeremiah 31:3 (NLT) 3 Long ago the LORD said to Israel: "I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.

14. He loves us by forgiving us all our wrongs (sins). 1 John 1:9 (NLT) 9 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong.

15. Ephesians 2:4-5 (NLT) 4 But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so very much, 5 that even while we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God's special favor that you have been saved!)

19. How then does God expect us to love each other?

20. He expects us to love each other unconditionally. Luke 6:27-37 (NLT) 27 "But if you are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies. Do good to those who hate you. 28 Pray for the happiness of those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you.

21. Luke 6:27-37 (NLT) 29 If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn the other cheek. If someone demands your coat, offer your shirt also. 30 Give what you have to anyone who asks you for it; and when things are taken away from you, don't try to get them back.

Love for others is “proof” that we love God! 1 John 4:20-21 (NLT) 20 If someone says, "I love God," but hates a Christian brother or sister, that person is a liar; for if we don't love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we have not seen? 21 And God himself has commanded that we must love not only him but our Christian brothers and sisters, too.
