John 15:9
Jesus Commands Us To Love As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. Jn. 15:9 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Jn. 15:12 Let us learn some of the ways we can emulate God’s love.
Tough Love God disciplines those He loves! Heb. 12:5-6, 11 God always wants what is best for His children. He is looking out for our good. Romans 8:28; 1 Pet. 3:12 We can imitate God’s love by having tough love in disciplining our children with firmness and working courageously for the good of others. Prov. 13:24; Gal. 4:16
Tender Love Hear me, O LORD, for Your lovingkindness is good; Turn to me according to the multitude of Your tender mercies. Psalm 69:16 God cares, understands and is touched by the feelings of our infirmities. Heb. 4:15 We should also emulate God’s tender love. Eph. 4:32
Trustworthy Love The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying: "Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love…” Jeremiah 31:3 Today we see the lack of trustworthy love. God’s love is trustworthy! He keeps all His promises. 1 Cor. 1:9; Titus 1:2 We should be steadfast and dependable also. 1 John 3:18; James 5:12
Triumphant Love “ Love never fails.” 1 Cor. 13:8 People, possessions, popularity, and pleasures fail. Yet, God’s love never fails. Before we can imitate God’s triumphant love, we must first possess it. 1 Jn. 4:8,16,21; 5:3 We must be totally committed to God and be filled with His love. Eph. 3:14-19 God’s love brings victory now & eternally! Jude 21
Will You Love God In Return? Jesus says, “If you love Me keep my commandments.” Jn. 14:15 Show your love to Jesus in obeying His commands to be saved. Heb. 5:9 Hear and believe the truth - Rom. 10:17 Repent - Luke 13:3 Confess - Rom. 10:9-10 Be baptized - Acts 22:16
