It notes that Royce was born in 1881, committed suicide in 1946, and had a career in music and theater. He wrote the poetry collection Chamber Music in 1907, which contained the poem "I hear an army."

The gothic genre blends fear and fiction, often including romance and nature. It employs dark, picturesque scenery and melodramatic devices to create an atmosphere of mystery, horror, and death. Key features include gloomy, decaying settings like haunted houses; supernatural beings that create fear in protagonists; curses or prophecies that add tension; and damsels in distress. Successful gothic stories also use symbolism, intense emotions, and suspense created by the unknown to keep readers on edge. Horace Walpole is credited with founding the gothic genre in 1764 with The Castle of Otranto, which introduced supernatural elements and everyday life to strike fear in audiences and established tropes that endure today
Hitler reoccupied the Rhineland in 1936 in violation of the Treaty of Versailles. The treaty had established the Rhineland as a demilitarized zone without German troops to protect France. Hitler took a huge gamble by sending troops into the area in March 1936. Britain would not intervene to help France, judging the risk was France's alone. France was divided in its response, and without British support did not take military action. Hitler's reoccupation succeeded and humiliated France by breaking terms of the earlier treaty.
Winemaking has a long history dating back over 6,000 years to Armenia. The process of making wine involves several steps: grapes are grown and harvested, then crushed to separate the juice from the skins and solids. The juice undergoes fermentation where yeast converts the sugar into alcohol. Next the wine is clarified by removing dead yeast cells and proteins. Finally, the wine is aged in steel vessels or oak barrels and bottled, completing the winemaking process.

Hoovervilles had improvised poor huts where migrants lived while searching for jobs. Life in these towns was terrible, with residents suffering from malnutrition and poor health conditions due to living in wasteland areas with no permanent shelter or steady food supply.
During the economic boom, cities were prosperous but after the Great Depression, poverty increased drastically. Unemployed people lived with relatives, in the streets, or in makeshift settlements known as "Hoovervilles", as seen in a photo of one in Seattle, Washington. Residents of Hoovervilles were unemployed migrants who constantly searched for work and relied on charity while living in poor conditions with inadequate shelter and malnutrition as they blamed Republican President Hoover for their situation.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
